BLAIR WHITMORE WAS living a lie. The perfect girl with the perfect family was far from that. Her constant need for validation stuck it's sharp claws into every corner of her mind and squeezed until there was nothing else present. A perfect student, a perfect daughter, a perfect girl who volunteered at the soup kitchens on the weekends and went to college at Chapel Hill. Her life had been a long and trying road of being perfect and fitting into the small labeled box her parents wanted her in.
A stolen boat, a dead body. The two things that sparked the crumbling of her and her family's perfect reputation. The nightmare of being perfect had morphed into a nightmare of court cases and catastrophic events. The never ending pressure to be perfect led to Blair's fear of being exploited, the fear that her family's secrets would be aired out for the entire town to see. These fears were what caused her incessant need to prove herself and what caused her to succumb to an emotional affair.
