Dash was taken aback by the sound of Ashton Hail's voice on the other end of his cell phone. He was at a loss for words. Why in the world was he calling him out of the blue?
"Dash? Are you there?" Ashton asked.
"Uh yeah. I'm just shocked to hear from you."
"Who are you talking to?" Pilot asked from the couch.
"Shh!" Dash shushed him.
The Pilot scoffed and turned back to the TV.
"I know it's been a long time. A lot has happened." Ashton sighed.
"Uh, how's your parents?" Dash asked.
"Dad didn't make it. Our mom died in a car accident three years ago."
"I'm sorry," Dash told him sincerely.
"I saw that Blair is missing."
Dash's heart twisted at the mention of the Blair. He felt like he was dying. He hadn't slept in days. "Y-yeah."
"Well...we found her."
Dash froze. "What?"
"Yes, she is with Lyric and me. We ran into her in Boston. She's safe."
"Oh my god. You aren't kidding, right? Please don't be joking." Dash pleaded.
Pilot turned once again, looking at Dash with a worried look. He was nervous that it was terrible news regarding Blair. Was it news that they didn't find her alive? Had he lost his little sister he swore to protect? Would he never be able to show her how sorry he was that he neglected her? He was doubtful he would be able to live with himself.
"I promise I'm not joking, Dash. She's okay." Ashton promised.
"Can I please talk to her?" Dash choked back a sob.
"Of course. Blair? He wants to talk to you."
"Is he mad?" Blair whispered.
Dash heard her timid voice.
"Blair, he is worried sick. You need to talk to him." Ashton told her.
Blair hesitantly picked up the phone. "Hi, Dash."
"Blair, where in the world are you?! Kids at your school said you were dragged into a car! I have been loosing my mind! What happened?" Dash felt tears run down his cheeks.
"I—I got away." Blair broke down in tears. Lyric rubbed her back in comfort. She didn't want to tell her brother she had actually run away, even though she had been kidnapped before she did.
