The operator asked in a kind voice if the youngster required any medical attention, the girl just sobbed, unable to answer. She was shaking, her little ears folded back. She kept sobbing, until police arrived and walked her out of the house, silently and she dared look back, but it was a sad sight. Her parents were gone, dead, now it was only her. She felt like they had abandoned her alone in this cruel world, with no way to fend for herself.
