Davina POV
As I predicted yesterday, Arabella has dragged me to another party. This one is at some rich kids' house. Music is booming across the house and red lights are flashing on and off. Drugs are everywhere you turn. This is my happy place.
Arabella left me a while ago. She went to go on the dance floor with some chick. And Nick is probably outside smoking a joint. Parties were never really his thing. Only tags along for the drugs.
I sit on the couch while sipping some tequila. I honestly love being by myself at parties. I don't feel the need to make conversation with anyone. Never was a social butterfly.
A few moments pass and I feel a tap on my shoulder. I try to ignore the person because I just want to be alone until I hear a deep British accent speak up.
"You know, it's rude to ignore someone" the person speaks up.
I finally get up from the couch and turn around to meet the same pair of green eyes I saw at the library yesterday and honestly, it felt like my breath was taken away from me.
"Could've come around and properly talked to me" I point out.
He completely dodges my statement and continues "I saw you at the library yesterday, can't believe we bumped into each other again".
I chuckle. What does he think this is? Fate? It's a popular kids' party. Chances are half of the town is here right now.
"Yeah... Well, it is a big party so chances are pretty high"
"Why so snappy? Just wanted to spark up a conversation, my love" he calmly speaks out.
"Not snappy. Just saying. Come over here if you want to talk". I point over to the seats in front of me to give him the hint to walk around the couch.
He listens and makes his way over to me. Studying him, he is very handsome. Tall, long curly hair, covered in tattoos, and bold. I like it.
"So, you here alone?" he asks when he gets closer.
"Oh uh no. My two friends were here, but they wandered off. You?"
Shaking his head yes, I ask him another question, "What's your name? Feels kind of weird to be talking to someone and not knowing their name".
"Harry.. Harry Styles".
Harry...Seems fitting.
"Cute... I'm Davina. Davina Flores" I mimic his tone.
"Cute? That's the first" Harry laughs. "A pretty name for a gorgeous girl.".
I look down blushing. He is charming too. I could get used to him.
"Wanna smoke? It's getting hot in here and I need one" I speak up after a moment of silence. Harry nods his head and stands up. He extends his hand for me to take and I gladly take it. We make our way to the front lawn and I pull out my blunt Nick gave me before walking off. We settle on the curb and I bring the blunt up to my lips and light it.
"You know at the library yesterday, you caught my eye" Harry speaks up while taking the blunt.
"Oh really? And why is that"
"Dunno, you seem.. different from most girls"
"Thanks, I guess? You caught mine as well. Seemed mysterious" I giggled.
He doesn't say anything but smile. I wonder what made him see me that way. I mean, most girls don't kill for a living but other than that, I don't think anything stands out. My thoughts are cut off when he stands up.
"Well, this was nice, but I am afraid I have to go home. Maybe I'll catch you at another party? or maybe even the library" He smirks at the last part and gives me back the blunt.
"Very funny. But, thanks for hanging around. See you around" I say. And with that, he is walking away.
