To my one and only,

How are those flowers doing my dear? I hope they are getting the great care they need. Even with you, I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself. I think I'm able to come soon and every night I pray that I can. My darling, I can't wait to see you again. I miss your soft touch, your small kisses. I miss how I could hold you in my arms while you would go on and on about plants and animals. I miss talking about our future together and planning to move into that small house by the river. I miss sneaking out of family gatherings just to see you. Darling, I love you so much and I must ask you, will you marry me?
    Love,
    Nick

I saw the ring fall out of the envelope and stared at it for a moment before putting it on my finger.

    To my dearest Nick,

The flowers are growing quite nicely. I'm doing pretty good as well and I promise you I've been taking care of myself. I miss you so very much. I miss playing with your hair. I miss the safe feeling of your arms around me. I miss being able to talk to you in person. I miss your voice. I miss your eyes. I miss your touch. I miss everything about you. My dear, please tell me that you can come home soon. I pray every night for your safety and that you can return soon. To answer your question, yes I will marry you Nick. I love you so much my dear.

    Love,
    Karl
