"...-don't leave me please, Vash."

The soft plea had barely escaped your mouth that you wished you had swallowed it instead, the terrible guilt in your abdomen gnawing at your insides with renewed force the following moment.

You scrambled your frenzied brain to find any manner to allow you to take back your words.

But Vash had no intention to let you backtrack. You had given him more than enough for him to dismiss any excuse you'd come up at this point.

He had won his bet and you could see relief mix with determination in his softening gaze.

"Vash, I- That's not what I-"

Your stuttering sentence was muffled by a surprised sound coming from the back of your throat as the blond criminal suddenly pulled your face to his, his soft lips crashing into yours.

Taken off guard, you blinked a few times before the overwhelming tsunami of sparks that was spreading over your face and rapidly down your neck claimed you.

Vash's kiss had had no prelude, his lips devouring yours the moment they met. His motions were demanding, even as you could tell he was fighting to hold himself back.

The palpable hunger you tasted from him and the saltiness from your lingering tears mixed into a strange concoction that flooded your mouth. And as it ran down your throat, it slowly pulled your mind in an ever-so-sweet daze.

You couldn't tell if it was desire or desperation that had the usually so gentle man possess you with such vigour at the moment, but your body seemed to respond to it even more than you remembered.

As a long moan of satisfied comfort rose from you and the sinful angel that had encompassed you drank it with fervor, you felt his strong hands that were firmly holding on to the sides of your face tense with repressed need.

He tasted like heaven. He felt like home. And you realized you had been but barely holding yourself together as you longed for him and his embrace with every passing hour.

You had been a fool to ever think you could have given up this purely addictive ecstasy.

Your own hands gripped at his forearms, clinging to him even as you felt your lungs burn from the lack of air. And it was with sour regret that you finally allowed yourself to pull away for a brief moment, breathless, when he gave a you the opportunity to.

Gasping in the sharply cold air that seeped between your heated faces, you breathed in his intoxicating scent as you attempted to recenter yourself. The sparks he was lighting over your cheeks still had you fighting the urge to nuzzle your face further in his hands.

And yet, you forced your eyes open, searching the reassurance of the man's gaze. However, you were taken aback by the blond man's iridescent eyes that met yours.

Confused, you observed the fluttering feathers that had begun to grow over his jawline, small wings even forming around his ears.

What had triggered his transformation? You stood silent as you thought it over, slightly hypnotized the angelic being before you.

"Luck.."

Shivers mixing with sparks ran down your skin at his barely audible whisper that dripped with deep hunger.

And it was as his thumb caressed your lower lip and you noticed his feathers spread and grow in unison that you understood that it was you.

You had triggered his transformation.

And somehow, that realization only made you crave the Angel that held onto you even more.

However, your shared trance shattered just as large chips of a crate came flying over the both of you from your right. A bullet having hit the corner of the crate right beside you, just barely missing you.
