In the morning we both woke up early and got breakfast in a cozy cafe close to the hotel. I wore a beige outfit, with some wide leg pants and a embroidered top. Charles was focused on the race and it was all he could talk about. I gladly listened as I sipped my coffee.
"Sorry, mon cœur it's all I can talk about." He said looking down, "I'm just so hyperactive today."
"It's okay this way I learn more about the sport." I offered a bit of my croissant and he declined.
"I can't eat right now." He said looking at his phone.
"It's okay but can you talk to me at least?" I asked sarcastically.
"You're right. I'm sorry, let me just finish this text." He texted quickly and put his phone away, he grabbed my hand on top of the table. "If everything goes well maybe we could go for dinner."
"With who?" I asked dumbly as I watched how his hand caressed mine with his thumb.
"Just you and me" He said with a soft gentle voice, I only nodded. His touch did something to me. When he finally stopped I inhaled deeply.
"You didn't have to do all that to get me to have dinner with you, Charlie." I almost chuckled out.
"Charlie? Huh? It's cute." He said taking out his wallet. It had them become a regularity that Charles paid. Every once in a while I would do it, when he let me. I blushed at his teasing.
"Shut up or I won't call you that again." I buried my face in my hands.
"No, no, no" He pulled my face out of hiding and gave me a smile, "it's cute."
We concluded the little date before his race and headed to the track. It was filled with people even if we arrived early. As we entered the paddock, Charles guided me through the place until finding Joris.
"Hello!" I said enthusiastically.
"Camila!" Joris exclaimed while pulling me into a hug, "how are you?"
"Good good." I pulled away and allowed Charles and Joris to greet.
"Andrea is in your drivers room." Joris pointed the way and Charles gave me a kiss in the cheek.
"Bye!" He yelled as he left the conversation.
"So tell me are you exited about summer?" Joris asked walking with me around the paddock.
"Are you kidding? I can't wait!" I squealed happily. The truth was I really couldn't wait.
"It's going to be so pretty, you're going to love everything." Joris continued to describe the places we would be going to and they sounded mystical.
Once it was finally time for the race to start we got into the garage. We stayed close to Andrea with our headphones and eagerly watched the race. Cars racing across the track as fast as they could. It was all full of adrenaline.
When the checkered flag finally waved Charles had ended P3. He had a podium! I could almost burst. I was so happy for him, just like everyone in the garage. Even though he started P1 and there was still a long way to go. This podium would definitely encourage the team for the second part of the season.
I headed with all the team to the spot where the cars would end up. Charles's Ferrari parking right in the P3 spot. He took off his helmet and fixed his hair, as the diva he is. He approached the team excitedly. When he received congratulations from his team I waited aside for him to notice me. When our eyes met I gave him my biggest smile. Cameras launched at our angle but I didn't care.
I gave him a peck in the lips and a big sweaty hug. People from the team whistled and shouted as I congratulated Charles. He then headed for his post race interview and the team ran to get to the podium. I was falling behind. When I got there, the team pushed me up to the front where Charles could see me. I was next to Fred.
