blood gradually spreads away, washed away by the heavy rain, leaving me unable to rest

You were the top assassin that never misses a target. I thought I would be the one who'd change you. In the end...I was just your target....just another bullet.

I enjoy the wealth that came with my name, yet insecurity was my biggest fear since my youth. I thought I finally found someone capable of giving me warmth, but how could I have thought that the only person who gave me warmth became the one who ended my life

That day, what I thought was a coincidence turned out to be a part of your plan.
"Hi ma'am don't drink this one" you said

"Excuse me? I paid for it already"

"I just noticed the fruit were the ones leftover from last night, we are happy to make you a new one for free" you explained

"Oh....ok, thank you" I replied awkwardly

Now it seems the two people I stumbled upon outside the bar that night were probably arranged by you
"What's up girl....lookin' fine, you got a boyfriend"

"That's none of your concern"

"Did you just break up....want a getaway?"

"Fuck off"

"Don't be so ruthless, how about we talk it out somewhere more...private"

"Don't touch me"

I usually don't go anywhere without bodyguards, that was the first time I was alone and afraid for my life
"Let go of her"

Standing behind your broad shoulder could be the most warmth I have ever felt
"Who are you?"

"I could ask you the same thing, I'm the boyfriend"

"Sorry about that ummm....we saw that your girlfriend was about to trip and wanted to help her. This was just a misunderstanding. We'll get going

"That better be the truth"

You turn around to meet my eyes. Your dark eyes....so deep, I could fall right through and never come back....
"Ma'am....you okay?"

"I'm fine, thank you. Why did you help me?"

"You left this, I just got off work, so I thought I might catch you outside"

"Thank you, this is my business card, I owe you one, feel free to contact me in the future."

Who knew that sentence would be the beginning of everything, and also the beginning of the end.
"Miss, your phone"

"Who's this? Oh, the waiter from that bar" I thought to myself

"Hello, what's the problem"

"Are you free anytime today"

"Why"

"It okay if you don't, you'll see me soon"

A bar waiter has the capability to become my bodyguard....how was I not suspicious
"Why did you apply to be my bodyguard"

"I was fired from the bar and couldn't find a job, so I thought of you"

"Right, you must be quite skilled to apply successfully"

As we spent more and more time together, trust grew by the day. Up until I saw that pistol. I first doubted you....
"This isn't our family's pistol..." I thought

"What you looking at"

That surprised look on your face...did you pretend to be in shock, or was that part of your plan as well
"Did they give you this pistol?" I questioned

"This pistol....is mine" you slightly stuttered

"What did you do before bartending? Why did you get a gun?"

"I've always liked guns. After 18, I got the license and saved up money to buy one"

"keep it safe"

Although we became closer by the day, my suspicion always existed. Until...
"They're still inside! let me go!" I cried

"My job is to protect you, you can't go in"

Watching the whole building engulfed in flames, the heat waves continuously attack my cheeks, yet they couldn't dry my tears
"Dad! Mom!"

With the last blow of flames, I lost all hope. Sitting on the warm concrete road staring at the flame that took away my everything.
"Why didn't you save them first! Why did you only bring me out! You could've saved them!"

"Calm down!"

"Don't tell me to calm down! It's all because of you...I have nothing left..."

You were the only one by my side, everyone else...was gone. Your plan was so perfect....flawless

Endless grievances grew in my heart. My eyes soaked with tears, I couldn't even see the fire clearly in front of me. I continuously wiped the tears with the front and backs of my hands until there was no space left to continue wiping.

At that moment, you succeeded, you became my last support

"Don't go...don't leave me"

"I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere"

"What am I gonna do....What should I do..."

As the only child in the family, all the responsibility of what my parents built dropped on my shoulders. Was this.... what you want to see?

I started running errands every day just to maintain operations. However all of it ended on this day....my birthday....a rainstorm took away everything from me once again.

"You...came to kill me from the very beginning?"

"My target...was your whole family"

"That night in the bar two years ago...wasn't a coincidence, was it"

"Of course not, you're the easiest person to approach in your family"

"Why did you save me from the fire?"

"You should've died in that fire, but I wanted you to live, or even let you go. But my superior said no. I'm sorry, it's either you or me....and it's going have to be you"

I don't know what gave me the courage to walk towards you. I grabbed the gun that ended my life and pointed it to my forehead. I stared at you through the rain, into the eyes of a killer....attempting to see your heart.
"I'll give you a chance to kill me, pull the trigger...kill me!"

"You want to die?"

"Pull the trigger, I fucking dare you!"

You fired a shot into the sky, loaded the gun and pointed the dark muzzle back at me
"You think I don't have the guts?"

"You won't shoot me"

You hesitated....is it real? Everything about us.... Was it real. I turned to leave which too much confidence. I thought you would let me go, but... my world ended

You shot me, you ended everything...my everything.

It's all over....lying in the cold pool rain water as I watched the millions of rain drops fall.

We....
