There was this man whose name was Dan
He went to war and never came home
His wife did cry the day he died
When a letter was sent from Rome
The letter said that he was dead
That his tent was bombed in a fight
So she called his brother Frank
And told him of Dan’s plight
Frank then told their father that Dan was dead
He told him Dan’s story from beginning to end
He told him of Dan’s love for his wife Elizabeth
He also told of how Dan was drafted into war to tend
To the wounded, dying, and dead
Frank also told his father that Dan died trying to save
The others that were either injured or dying
Then Frank’s father said “Then he died a Hero”
That’s when Frank said that he was glad to talk about it for he was crying
Frank then called his sister Alice and told her the tragic news
That Dan was dead and that he died trying to save others
That was when Alice asked how he died
Then Frank said that their brother’s
