Confession and guilt

Narrator pov. Continuing when they're walking~

Junko kept looking down as she walked, holding the girl's hand as Conan held the other one from the other side. They were both content with not saying anything as they still processed their situation.

Junko still had a hard time accepting that she was not Nashi right now, or the fact that she was far away from her parents' house. She couldn't believe that she was free still, it felt like a dream.

While walking and thinking those thoughts, the silence was broken by the girl who asked, "Ne, Conan-kun, Junko-chan?"

Junko, who only responded because that's a name she always had in her mind for her character that she now took the name of, looked up at her in response, wondering what she wanted.

Conan didn't respond immediately though, which made the girl repeat, "Conan-kun?"

Junko mumbled, "Ne, she's talking to you."

That got him to look back up as he finally realized it and responded, "Ah, what is it Ran-neechan?"

Though his eyes couldn't be seen with the blindfold, Junko could tell he was probably embarrassed.

The girl then asked, "Do both or either of you have a crush on someone in school?"

Junko blinked repeatedly in confusion.

'A... Crush...? Why would she ask that? And to who she thinks are kids?' she tilted her head, she didn't see why the girl would think to ask that.

Conan took the initiative to answer first, "No I don't." 

Junko saw the girl glance at her so she shook her head and said, "I don't either." 'All the boys at my school were bullies... Of course, I don't like anyone...' 

The girl then smiled and said, "Well, I do. I have someone I really like." she looked up at the night sky as she said the last part.

Junko blinked before Conan suddenly had a teasing grin and said, "Is it that Shinichi-niichan you were looking for?" in a joking teasing tone.

Junko looked at him in surprise, wait so they aren't dating?

Her question was answered when the girl smiled wider and replied, "That's right."

Conan immediately paused, the grin gone and his blindfolded face looking surprised.

The girl started to explain, "He can be mean, he's pretentious and a deduction otaku,-" Junko blinked in confusion.

What was wrong with being a 'deduction otaku'? Wasn't Kudo a detective?

The girl continued, "-But when it comes to it, he can be smart, cool, and brave. He's reliable in the hardest of times! I really like Shinichi!"

Junko looked over to her 'brother' to see that he was red, his head was steaming.

The girl stopped walking as she let go of their hands and crouched down in front of them as she said, "Don't tell Shinichi I said that though! It's a secret!"

Junko nodded while Conan said, "U-Un." and they continued walking after she insisted that they don't say anything.

Junko looked over to see that Conan was looking down, the frown on his face made it obvious he was feeling guilty.

That made Junko look down too, now feeling guilty again.

The girl was the only one looking happy after that confession of hers, oblivious to the negativity she started as they continued walking.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Well, Ran still says her confession, but Junko rightfully questions the cons she gives Shinichi.

And now both of them feel guilty again, geez thanks a lot, Ran.
