It always amazed you how much beauty the world had to offer outside the walls of that lonely manor. The market you stood in was bustling with energetic and rowdy people. The stands were colorful and vibrant, no two stands were the same. Children ran around with fantastical toys crafted by people of whimsical imaginations. And in the center a small crowd danced to upbeat music played on lutes, trumpets, harps and guitars.
You wore a long bell sleeved blue checkered dress that reached your ankles with a ruffled neckline. E/C eyes sparkled with wonder looking around the scene with a nervous excitement.
"Y/N!" Sero called you excitedly while wearing some more casual clothes. A brown vest and pants with a plain white shirt. He pranced up to your side while holding a closed white parasol. "You ready to go?"
"Yeah, but I dunno where to go first." You said as he opened the parasol and held it over you to provide shade in the bright sun.
"What are you looking for?"
"I need art supplies. Mainly canvases, some good paints, brushes. But they can get really expensive." You said as Sero began to lead you.
He scoffed slightly at your tone. "You're married to an emperor. I'm sure a price tag is the last thing that should concern you." He said with a sense of pride in his master. "I know a guy who tends to sell hobby equipment of all types and they're very good quality. So let's stop by his shop first."
"Okay!"
Sero led you through the upbeat crowd as you fidgeted with the silk wallet in your hands. It was an amount of money you saved yourself. On the rare occasions someone did lay eyes on your artwork they did commission you. Very generously you recalled.
I hope this is enough. You thought while feeling the weight of the bag in your hands. I mean it should be, I even put a few sapphires and rubies in here.
"Good afternoon my lady!" A voice called out to you. It was a man in a shop that displayed meats cooked in various ways as people ate inside. "You look like someone who enjoys to eat! Care to check out my kitchen?"
You could feel your face burn at his words as you stared in shock. "Eh-Excuse me? Are you talking to me?"
"Who else?" He replied with a slight sneer in his grin. "You're the biggest woman on this street, obviously you love to eat."
"Um-"
"Y/N hold this please." Sero said handing the parasol to you before walking towards the cook. You watched, still struck by his comment, as Sero approached, grabbed him by his collar and whispered in his ear. The owner's initial face shifted from outrage, to confusion, before morphing into utter horror and fear. He pulled away and glared at him before letting the man go. "Now."
"My-my-my-my lady please forgive my words. I spoke in an immoral way to you please forgive me." The cook bowed to you and removed his hat, showing his glistening bald dome as appeared to tremble through his words.
"Oh. Um, it's fine. Don't worry about it." You muttered already turning away as the man peeked up.
"You can go now." Sero commanded as he hurried back into his shop. He returned to your side and took the parasol before returning to his previous upbeat smile. "Let's be on our way then." He said as you nodded with a frown and began to walk again.
As you moved through the street you looked down at your body. Your bust was in the way of course, a common occurrence when wearing a corset. Especially for one your size. You felt around the corset you wore feeling all the fat that was compacted inside. It wasn't painful, but I felt so suffocating. Fitting all of yourself into more and more constraints. Fighting, begging just to look a bit small.
