19. Suppressed Thoughts

Previously~

Lyra and Hermione were in awe at the story. The sacrifice, the beauty and the selflessness.

Lyra had another thought in mind though. They knew of the existence of vampires and there were a lot of phased wolves. The tribe was stronger. She needed to get closer to the vampires and the wolves.

Now~

Lyra was deep in thought after the trip from the beach. Hermione had bid her good night, so now she was holding a two way mirror and in a deep conversation with Theodore Nott.

"You could kidnap one of them." Theo suggested.
"Too much lookout." Lyra responded.
"Kidnap all of them?" Theo responded.
""They'll phase. Too much hard work. I need some concrete answers. This can be done for muggles but not shifters. Plus, I'm pretty sure that they're much more stronger than regular muggles."

"You look so beautiful when you think." Theodore randomly and casually said it out loud.

"Wh- Theo, pl-. Thank you. " Lyra said as she smiled at the young man who was smiling at her from the other end.
"Its so good to talk to you." Lyra smiled as they diverted from the topic at hand, talking about their day and how they planned to meet soon. The previous conversation left at a stall.

Timeskip~
Edward was stuck in his self wallowing when he heard the gasp of Alice. He quickly invaded her mind and realised she was in the middle of seeing a vision. 

A woman held a glass of red wine. Her black hair in a bun, stuck with a odd stick. The vision was fuzzy, she could see someone else. A woman, dressed in pink. and two other men behind her. It looked like a confrontation. There, to his greatest shock, he saw himself, standing against a column of the house. He looked amused. The wolves were also there. The Clearwater boy was there along with a few others, there was no hostility. He also saw other figures, but they were blurry  and he could not make much of it. Then like static, the vision cut into Hermione, she looked angry. It fuzzed again to show the Black haired woman was none other than Lyra. This time she had a menacing smile. Soon after, the vision turned black.

"Alice dear, what did you see?" Carlisle asked.  

"A vision regarding our new friends. It was all fuzzy and blurry. But i saw the two girls, Lyra and Hermione. I also saw Edward with the wolves. In their house. I think we should get closer with them. My feelings tell me that they will be good for us."  Alice responded sweetly.

"But what was that odd situation? It seemed odd. It was like a confrontation of some sorts." Edward responded inciting a glare from Alice.

" As I was saying, Edward looked happy for a reason. He wasn't being his sulky self  like he usually is. And not only that, the wolves too weren't hostile in any way. The were goofing around." Alice rambled on. 

"They're humans Alice. We are Vampires. We cannot go on befriending people just because you saw a vision!" Rosalie declares.

"But they will be good for our brother. Edward looked happy. He was not wallowing or sulking. He seemed genuinely happy. You cannot wish to take that away from him! He is our family. A part of our coven Rosalie." Alice voiced out. Her voice getting shriller the more she spoke. 

" Jasper, if you please." Carlisle motioned as jasper released calming waves into the family.

Edward didn't know what to think. This sheer loyalty from his family astounded him.

"I've already invited the girls to our house." Jasper responded.

"Why?!?!?!?" Rosalie snarled but calmed down when Emmett rubbed her back.

"Lyra is my friend." Jasper declared with such conviction, everyone was silenced. Esme was the first to break this silence as she muttered how happy she was for him.

"Jasper, how did you befriend her?" Carlisle asked gently as the whole family sat down to hear the tale of the beginning of his new friendship.

After Jasper explained the entire situation wholly, from her blood to how he feels around her, Esme walked up to him to give him a hug. Esme was a very compassionate person and felt happy at the thought that her son had a friend who didn't constantly remind him that he was a monster.

Timeskip~

Lyra wasn't sure what to make out of the entire scenario. She was befriended by both the wolves and the vampires fairly quickly. She thought she'd have to make some dramatic stories or do something crazy but being 'normal' got their attention. Also, she genuinely enjoyed the talks she had with Jasper. And Seth, she didn't know how to put into words about how she felt for him. She felt warm when she thought about him. She knew she was thinking too much about a situation and reading too much into the entire thing. It was frustrating. There was so much to think about and it was all happening so quickly. 

"Hermione!" Lyra called out.

"Yes Lyra. What happened?" Hermione entered the room with a quill and a book.

"I was thinking, can we ask the vampires for their venom?" Lyra asked.

"And how are you planning to do that?" Hermione questioned as she sat down on her bed.

"I don't know, ask them? You think they'll give it to me?" Lyra responded and Hermione laughed.

" Oh, Lyra. With that silver tongue of yours, they well as may." Lyra smiled at that statement. She knew is was not a judgement but an agreement that she can speak well.

"You know, I was wondering if we could visit Jasper. He did send me an invite. And to you by extension." Lyra pondered.

"Surely we can. I'm surprised to see you taking a liking to new people." Hermione responded.

"I like Jasper. He can hold a good conversation. But of course, we need to get them gifts since this is our first visit." Lyra responded with a smile.

"What can we get them?" Hermione thought along with Lyra. Food was out of the question, the don't drink alcohol, no perfumes either. Clothes were a maybe. Lyra was leaning towards books maybe and art. It was a confusing situation. They both had their fair share of killing vampires. This was a first for both of them. 

"When are you planning to go?" Hermione enquired.

"Tomorrow maybe. Its a weekend. It would also give you the excuse to study the 'family'." Lyra responded with air quotes on the last word.

"There will be no backing out from this. Once we start with the visits, we may need to tell them about us." Hermione stressed on the situation.

"I know. But I'm gonna delay it as much as possible. Edward has a human friend. I need to know whether we can trust them with that piece of information." Lyra responded.

"You know, I am glad we decided to come here. The place seems to be doing us some kindness." Hermione said with a smile as both the girls started laughing and gossiping for the rest of the night.
