Some people really just don't understand how relationships work. I'm only in 8th grade but already I walk pass people my age making out in the school hallways. Nothing's wrong with kissing, but, still.
Oops! I didn't introduce myself. I'm Madison. I'm really short and really white. I have longish fluffy blonde hair. Yeah. Anyway, back to the story.
So as you probably guessed, I'm against dating in middle school. My religion, Mormonism, says you can't date until 16, and I'm cool with that. The options at my school are really limited for an honors student like me. I'm not that smart, but I get mostly A's and sometimes lower grades in harder classes like math.
I'm not really popular, but my tight-knit group of friends suits me just fine. My friends are amazing! Ken (a girl, believe it!) is really sassy and cool. Carol is quiet but a really loyal friend and is really logical. Nicky is really bouncy and a HUGE potter head and writes random stuff about dragons on her binders. Tali is really pretty and popular but has an amazing personality and always knows the right things to say. Frida is really blunt but makes you feel better about yourself by insulting you. We're all really weird and perverted and I love them all to death. Sorry, rambling a bit.
Tali has had two boyfriends this year, Nicky had one last year, Frida has a crush, Carol has a bunch of people crushing on her, and Ken got asked out at the beginning of the year, said no, and then got another boyfriend. I'm lonely and single. I have one confirmed person with a crush on me, but he will never, EVER be more than a friend! He is a weird ginger who tells weird stories and likes weird guy stuff and we have NOTHING in common.
I don't mind. Hopefully more people will come next year for high school. But don't think this is all I think about. I'm actually supposed to be paying attention as my teacher Ms. Gand talks about how to do the worksheet she's about to pass out. Ugh! At least Frida sits next to me this period. I turn to her and make a face. In response, she suggestively wiggles her eyebrows. Frida!
The worksheet was on the solar system and I finished with half an hour left in class and turn to help Frida. She had been bugging me ever since she saw the paper. It went something like this:
"Hey Madison!"
"What?"
"What's number 1?"
I turned and saw her pointing to the name line.
"That's where you write your name, Frida."
"Oh."
Two minutes later, I felt someone pulling on my sleeve.
"What Frida?" I said, not even turning around.
"What's number-"
I cut her off and said,
" I'll help you when i'm done Frida."
"Okay!!!"
Great. She had sugar. This should be fun.
