I sighed in relief as the bell rang to signal the end of 2nd period. Enjoying the nutrition break, I took my time and walked slowly to my locker. I was lost in my thoughts, so I didn't notice when I walked right in to someone. I didn't recognize him, so I just mumbled apologies and kept going. I was putting my books away when Ken ran up to me.
"Hey Madison! Did you hear about the new kid? I just heard that he's really hot and is in our third period!"
" Cool. I thought you had a boyfriend."
" We broke up!"
"Oh, I'm sorry?" I said, confused at how happy she sounded.
" Don't be. He was boring."
She prattled on about the virtues of the new kid until we got to third period and I managed to change the subject.
She and I changed quickly ( we had P. E. third) and then I got dragged along behind her as she ran to try and get a look at the new kid.
Sam's POV
I was kinda nervous. It was my first day at a new school, and I didn't know anyone there. I had just moved to California from Alabama and had a strong southern accent. I didn't want to stand out, but the fact that I was six foot three inches didn't help either.
My reverie was interrupted when someone bumped into me. I looked down to see a really short girl with brown hair blushing and apologizing. She was kinda cute. It gave me hope. I wanted to get a girlfriend to help me get used to the really different culture of sunny Southern California.
I looked at the map of the school i had been given and found my way over to the boys dressing room by the gym for third period P. E. As I was going in to the locker room, I saw the girl go into the girls locker room, and felt my heart jump as I realized she must have third period P. E as well. Hopefully, I can get to know her better.
I hadn't had any trouble so far. My size gave me a clear advantage over bullies, and I already had one or two guys that I had several classes with. But girls, and especially that girl, are a whole other story.
After I changed, I got assigned a role number and stood and stared at the girl as the teacher took role. I was surprised when an energetic blonde bounced over and introduced herself.
" Hi! I'm Ken! You must be Sam."
Slightly surprised that she knew my name, I said
" Hey nice to meet you."
"What classes do you have?" She asked.
"Umm... Science, history, PE, computer, algebra, and English."
"Omgosh! We have algebra and English together! Let me know if you need any help finding your classes or anything." And she walked over to talk to the girl.
Kens's POV
Wow his voice is sexy. I can't believe he just moved here now. Like seriously, I've been waiting! I noticed him staring at Madison earlier, hmm maybe I shouldn't introduce her, but it probably wasn't anything. I mean, they've never even met! How serious could any competition of hers be? I'll introduce them in last period English, which we all have together.
Is it wrong to want a chance with someone?
