Sparks began to fly as Maki and (Y/n) exchanged blows for the nth time today. The pair had been going at it since the morning, and Maki was more than willing to oblige with his request. Perhaps, (Y/n) was growing on Maki, or perhaps she just liked being able to trade blows with the male without anyone throwing a fuss.

c slid on the ground, Maki would soon descend on him with a wide swing from her naginata. Genbu was (Y/n)'s answer to her strike, and angled himself so that the moment Maki had made contact with him, her blow had slid off the Black Tortoise's shell.

Both stepped back, their eyes narrow.

Maki allowed him to retreat, knowing she had an advantage so long as she played to the range the naginata gave her.

(Y/n) stepped back, knowing that he could close the gap in an instant so long as he played his cards right.

From a fair distance away, the quartet of Panda, Inumaki, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki were observing the spar.

"They're still at it?" Kugisaki asked.

"Maki won't pass up an opportunity to beat on (Y/n) it seems like." Panda shrugged.

"They get better every time." Fushiguro said, obviously impressed though his expression did not reflect it. It made him want to face (Y/n) too.

(Y/n) and Maki charged back in. The latter struck, aiming for a stab at the male, but (Y/n) had stood his ground. Black Tortoise became White Tiger, and the Naginata froze in place.

Maki pulled back with a smirk.

"You're getting the hang of that Resonance thing." Maki said.

"Not getting stabbed is a good motivator." (Y/n) smiled, brandishing his claws. "Let's wrap it up."

As (Y/n) and Maki clashed for a final time, the male couldn't help but think of the Exchange Event. It was coming up soon, and (Y/n) could only get better with each passing day. His control over the Byakko Resonance was improving at an alarming rate. At first he could only gather stationary pieces of metal, but after training with Maki (Read as: Being beaten by Maki) (Y/n) quickly learned to track the moving metal as Maki swung it around her.

For once, Maki was the one who was sent flying. (Y/n) raised his arms coated in the protection of the Black Tortoise.

"Holy crap, he actually won!" Kugisaki exclaimed.

"That makes the official score 27-3." Panda said.

(Y/n) sighed, releasing his transformation as he walked over to Maki. ""Got you." He smiled. (Y/n) couldn't help but feel proud of this accomplishment.

"You're happy about that?" Maki smirked.

"You mop the floor with me on most occasions." (Y/n) replied. "Let me be happy."

"Fine." said Maki, then turned to the others. "Hey! You lazy schmucks, get off your asses and train!"

(Y/n) couldn't help but chuckle at the display. "Alright, who wants to fight me next?"

At the end of the day (Y/n) could only sit alone in the dojo on campus. His mom still wasn't back from her Grade 1 Promotional Exam. He wasn't worried, from what he heard was that the one she was shadowing was a Grade 1 Sorcerer that Gojo recommended.

(Y/n) didn't know much about Gojo, but he at least trusted he knew who was strong.

Meditation was on the menu for (Y/n) today, he found that it helped him focus on his abilities. It calmed him, made his focus linger on the usage of his powers.
