"What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong plays as Alex and his gang are going separate ways with Alex running through the jungle, getting his claws caught on leaves, and then a tree. He pulls them out only for him to fall down a hill through jagged rocks, a field of flowers, and finally a cactus patch before landing on his feet with a cactus stuck on his back before falling into a river and plummets down a waterfall. Alex arrives on the Fossa side of the island walks pass a few Foosas and uses his claws to sharpen pieces of wood as he makes an enclosure resembling his back at the zoo and sits on a rock feeling sad and guilty. Meanwhile, the gang walks through the jungle and witnesses how dangerous the wild can be, such as a hummingbird flew into the snapdragon flowers only for it to be eaten. They also saw a mouse escaped from a snake, by gets caught by an eagle, and they spot a duckling and gets it to a lake but it gets eaten by a crocodile much to their shock as they walk by the grassy field that Marty, Brandon, and Alex played on earlier as the song ended.
"What have I done? This is a nightmare! It's all my fault. Now, because of me, we've lost Alex." Marty said in guilt.
"No, it's not your fault." Mariah said.
"Just don't worry about that." Katie said.
"What are we gonna do?" Melman asked.
"We're gonna find the way to help him. That's what we're gonna do." Gloria said.
"And we still have a chance to go back to New York." Mariah said.
"Really?" Brandon asked.
"How?" Katie asked.
"Come on, we are New Yorkers, right? We're tough. We're gritty. We're adoptable! And we are not going to lay down like a bunch of Melmans!" Gloria shouted to them in loyal.
"No, we're not." Melman said.
There was a honking sound.
"Oh, Gloria." Melman said.
"That was not me, okay? That was the boat. The boat!" Gloria said.
"The boat? The boats come back for us! Come on, guys, we gotta flag it down!" Marty shouted, and they all left.
They all ran to the shore of the beach and saw the boat form far away.
"I see it! It's over there!" Mariah shouted.
"Over here!" Katie shouted.
"Come on, give me a lift! Come on, lift me up, lift me up!" Gloria shouted as she got on top of Melman's head.
Melman lifts up Gloria on his head.
"Help! Help! Help!" Brandon shouted.
"Over here!" Gloria shouted
"My head. My head." Melman said.
"Melman!" Gloria shouted.
"Over here!" Melman shouted.
"Over here!" Marty shouted.
"You have no idea how much this hurts." Melman said.
Melman loses his balance, and Gloria, Marty, and Brandon fall off of Melman.
"Look! It's turning! It's coming back!" Gloria shouted happily.
"Thank goodness." Katie said in relief.
"Yes, this way! Come on, baby!" Melman shouted happily.
"But Marty, what about Alex?" Mariah asked Mart.
Both Marty and Mariah were about to run off.
"You guys flag down that boat, Marty and I are gonna go to get Alex." Mariah said.
"Wait, you guys. Hold on there. You two can not go back there by yourself." Gloria said.
"Guys, I know, Alex. He listens to us. When he hears about that we're rescued, he'll understand." Mariah explained.
"The people are coming. They can help us." Brandon said.
"Brandon's right. The people will know what to do. Now come on, we gotta flag down that boat." Gloria said.
As Gloria turns around, the boat comes right at them and makes a slow stop close to Melman's face. The boat makes a honk noise as it blows in front of the trees. The penguins get out by the anchor and look around.
"Now, this is more like it." Skipper said.
"You! Oh man...where are the people?" Brandon asked.
"We killed them and ate their livers." Skipper said.
Everyone was silent.
"Gotcha, didn't I? Just kiddin' dude, the people are fine. They are on the slow lifeboat to China. Hey! I know all five of you. Where's that psychotic lion? Alongside his beauty lioness and our monochromatic friend? Skipper asked.
"Mariah and Marty? They're right..." Brandon said.
They looked around, but Marty and Mariah were gone.
"Where did they go? They were right behind us." Katie said.
"Ugh, they went back for Alex. They're gonna get herself killed." Gloria said.
"We have to find her quick." Brandon said.
"What are we gonna do?" Melman asked.
"Well, boys, our monochromatic and lioness friends is in danger." Skipper said to the penguins.
Private takes a notepad and a crayon to write down.
"Looks like we have a job to do. Captain's log: Embarking into hostile environment. Kowalski. We'll need to win the hearts and the minds of the natives. Rico. We'll need special tactical equipment. We're gonna face extreme peril. Private probably won't survive." Skipper explained the plan.
Private breaks his crayon that he was writing with as he takes notes, as he was scared.
