Chapter 4: Runes
Clary pov
I heard the door to the institute Library open, I heard him gasp. Jace 
"Clary." He said. I kept my eyes closed, remembering what Sebastian said if I did open my eyes. He didnt want me to look at Jace or really anyone but him. He was to overprotective and way to harsh. I mean this is pretty much my family I have the right to at least see them. And why do I have to have my head laying in his lap?? I might as well just deal with it, no questions asked. It seemed like  total silence untill Sebastian spoke.
"Now listen well my little sister is to remain with me. But I brought her along with me so you could see what im capable of. Of course you already know what I can do, but just in case." I could almost feel him smirk. 
"What the hell do you want?" Jace spat.
"To show you brother what I am capable of."
"Which is?" Jace replied.
I felt a stinging feeling in my arm and my eyes shot opened. I tried so hard not to scream but it escaped my lips and ecoed off the walls. As my vision blurred I saw Jace running toward me.
I couldn't think. And the world went dark.
Jace pov
When the stele touched her skin she started screaming like she was dying. I ran for her but was bounced back by an invisible force. Protection spell. I thought.
Then clary stopped screaming and her body was stuff. Her cuts slowly healed and her eyes opened. She looked up at Sebastian in awe, like he was all she knew and wanted. I looked at her arm and my heart broke.
A love rune.....
"Kiss me." Sebastian demanded.
My while body went stiff as she reached up and kissed him... Like she was in love with him. My heart sank. When she pulled away from him they were both smiling, she turned and looked me in the eyes confused. As if she was trying to remember...remember me.
For the first time in forever, tears spilled down my face. I felt alecs arm on my back, a consoling touch.
