The Fortress

The two adventurers continued on their journey. They were slowly approaching the top of Mt. Zhatmire. At its peak was their objective: Jurgen's fortress.

While they continued climbing, the temperatures began to drop with the increased elevation. Y/N rubbed his arms and hands to keep them warm. When they got high enough, Bravestone suggested they switch into their winter gear. They pulled their clothes out of Y/N's bag and changed.

Y/N was given a puffy tan vest with a fur collar. He wore orange boots and gloves along with a grey sock hat. A red scarf and a pair of binoculars hung from his neck. He walked out from getting changed and saw his partner's new attire. Bravestone was wearing a blue and grey vest with brown patches over his dark green pants. He still carried his belt holster with the machete. Y/N looked at him and then back at his own attire.

Y/N: Okay, how come you get all the cool stuff?

Bravestone shrugged at him, trying to hold back a smirk at the wardrobe he bought for the shorter man. The two then continued on their journey as they approached the fortress.

Before long, the two reached the outside of the fortress. They hid behind a patch of ice and snow and looked out over the area. The front gates were guarded by soldiers who were going in and out with their trucks. Looking up, Y/N could see some strange device with an antennae on the roof.

They continued looking out at the scene. Bravestone eventually sighed and shook his head.

Bravestone: There's too many of them. We won't be able to sneak in that way.

Looking to the side of the fortress, Y/N noticed a sheet of ice.

Y/N: How good are you at climbing?

Bravestone: I'm pretty good. Why?

Y/N pointed towards the sheet of ice. It went up the mountain, onto the fortress, and near a window. Bravestone could climb inside and sneak in that way.

Bravestone: Good thinking.

Y/N: Well I didn't bring you along to do everything, now did I?

The archeologist looked at the window and then back at the guards patrolling the area.

Bravestone: There's still too many of them. God knows how many are inside. I won't be able to get to the cells to free the girls. They'd notice me right away.

Y/N: Then I'll go.

Bravestone: What?

Y/N: Few of these guys even know of my existence, much less what I look like. I'll get in close and free the girls. You get the jewel.

Bravestone looked at him and then back at the guards.

Bravestone: You sure about this, kid?

Y/N: Not really. But it's the only reasonable plan I could think of on such short notice.
