"They are twins!" I heard someone shout "Wait, they are boy and girl... Never mind. Have you got a name in mind?"
I didn't hear the answer. Dad was in the room with mum while Christopher, Maddy, Chace and me waited outside. When half an hour had passed, Chace started to be hungry and I had to take him down to the cafeteria, where an old man, probably out of his mind, said he wanted 'to get it on' with me. Thank god Chace was still too young to know what that means. Now, he was cradled up in my arms, his face against my chest, playing with my mobile phone I had given him so that he would be still for at least ten minutes.
"I didn't remember it being that long" Christopher commented
"Me neither. Chace took half of this one" Maddy said
"It will over soon... I hope" I said, sighing
"I'm going to the bathroom" Christopher declared "Wanna come C?"
He threw the phone at me and jumped to the floor. He walked with his older brother towards the bathroom.
"Little height difference" Maddy said, sarcastically
"Yeah, you really can't tell one is 18 and the other one is 5" I said, smiling
Maddy laughed. "Remember when Chace was little? He used to say he was the boss of the family and that we had to obey him"
"Yeah, no one ever did what he said. Poor little thing" I said
"Yeah, well now he's got the whole family on his side"
"I know, he's just too cute"
Maddy smiled at me "You've always loved little kids. I remember when you wouldn't let aunt Claire take Jim home because you wouldn't let go of him. You said the exact same thing "he's too cute". Hahaha and our poor cousin couldn't defend himself because he was only one year old"
I blushed. I remembered that day. When I got home dad punished me.
I heard footsteps moving quickly and the next thing I knew was that Chace and I were both on the floor.
"Ow! Chace that hurt!" My back hurt so badly I thought I might be on wheelchairs for the rest of my life
"Sorry" He said, trying to hide his laugh.
Maddy got him and made him look straight into her blue eyes "Listen to me young boy, don't ever do that again. I know you love your sister but one day you'll end up without her because you killed her in one of your rushes to get to her"
Christopher helped me to get up and pulled my T-shirt up so that he could touch my back. I didn't mind, he was my older brother
"Does it hurt if I touch?"
"A little" I winced when he touched the sour spot "Ok, a lot if you touch there. Ow"
"You should see a doctor. But I can guarantee it's going to leave a mark"
Chace looked at me and his green eyes, which looked exactly like mine, fixed on mine "I'm really sorry Kristen. I didn't mean to hurt you" He was apologizing to me. Oh, he was just so cute. I cradled him on my arms and swung him around. He laughed so much I thought he might break in two. The door opened and dad's head appeared
"You can come in now. Don't bother your mother too much, though" He said.
"Are you ready to see your new brother or sister?" I asked Chace as I walked past the door with him in my arms
"Actually, brother and sister" Mum said
I stared in shock. Not just one, but two. A girl and a boy. Wow.
