Hiding

Chapter 1

Mackenzie's POV:
"Mom, please don't" I wimpered as my Mom was about to throw a beer bottle at my head. You would think this is a one time thing, Like she got drunk and went a little crazy, but no, My mom has been abusive ever since my Dad died. And when she got remarried, to Tony, it got worse, I only have one friend to support me, but she doesn't even know, Her name is Chloe, I think she is the only person in this world that loves me and cares for me. She's the only person I love. "Shut up!" Tony said, he tackled me and pinned me against the hard wood floors. I cried out in pain, I looked up at my Mom hoping she would put and end to it, but she never did. I saw my Mom throw the Beer bottle at my head and I blanked out.
----The Next Day----
I woke up on the the living room floor. My head was pounding, It must be from the beer bottle. I went to my room quietly hoping Tony wouldn't hear. I finally got to my room and threw on a white tank top with some black jeans, and A black jacket to top it all off. I grabbed my backpack, and quietly walked down stairs. I went into the kitchen to get a granola bar and just to my luck my Mom was waiting for me. "Good morning Mackenzie" She said. "Morning..." I mumbled. She always did this, tried to be nice, and then I would mumble, and that would give her a reason to hit me. "Speak up when you talk to me young lady!" She yelled. "Morning" I hollered back. She walked closer to me, I got ready for inpact, I saw a wet rag in her hand. I sorta freaked out because I was afraid she was going to kill me, so I ran out the front door. I knew I was going to be early for school, so I just waited for Chloe at the bus stop where we usually meet so we can wall to school together.
--20 mintues later---
"Hey Kenzie!" I heard Chloe shout as she ran towards me. She stooped dead in her tracks. "Kenzie, what happened to your head?!" She asked. Crap! I forgot to cover that up. "I ran into a wall, and then umm, fell down the stairs" I said. "Ouch! Are you okay?" Chloe asked, as she raced towards me. "Yeah, I'm good" I replied. "Let's go" She said, and we walked off to school

When we finally got to school Chloe and I started to talk again. "Guess what!" Chloe said. "What?" I asked, as I turned towards her. "My Mom called your Mom and where having a sleepover at your place tonight!!" She said. "Yay!" I said. I was actually excited because when Chloe was over my Mom and Tony where nice to me, Well sometimes. One Time when Chloe was over they slapped me, but she didn't see. "I gotta go to first period, See you after school?" I asked. "Yepperooni!" Chloe said as she walked off to her first period, Math.

The whole School day was boring, but I couldnt get one thing off my mind, the sleepover, I was afraid Chloe might see the real side of my parents, because if she did find out she would tell her Mom and her Mom would tell the police, but I was old already be dead, because my parents found out ahead of time. Ugh, Come on Mackenzie, stop being a baby, she won't find out I thought to myself... I hope.

So that was the first chapter of Hiding! Just so you know, well obviously Maddie is not in this story, it's really just Mackenzie, Melissa (Mackenzie's Mom), Tony, Christi (Chloe's Mom), Robert (Chloe's Dad), Chloe, and Clara (Chloe's Little sister)
