"Why have you been lying to me?"
Chloe's words rang in my head. "About what?" I asked, even though I knew she must've seen my parents hitting me. "You know what Kenzie! I just watched your parents abuse you!" Chloe said. "Shh! They'll hear you!" I whispered. "Sorry... How long have they been doing this?" She asked. "Since I was 3, so 10 years" I said saddly. "Kenzie, who wouldn't you tell me?" Chloe asked as she pulled me into a hug. "I don't know" I said, I began to cry on her shoulder. "It's okay... I'll get you out of here" Chloe said. "Wait, What?" I asked. "You can secretly live with me!" Chloe said cheerfully. "I would love that Chlo, but I think your Mom would find out pretty quick..." I said. "Your right... WAIT!" Chloe screamed. "Chlo, be quiet!" I hushed her. "Sorry... But you could live in my secret attic!" Chloe said. "Omg, your so smart!!" I said. "Wait... what if my Mom goes up there.." Chloe said. "It's alright I'll hide... Chlo, you don't understand... I need to get out of here" I said. "Okay, You can live up there starting tomorrow because my Mom decorated it today" Chloe said. "Chlo, your the bestest friend ever!" I said. And I couldn't help but smile... I was going to get out of here!
