she had been a media worker for the Phillies baseball team for under a year. But one thing she learned was never EVER get into a relationship.

Most people can't deal with what it means to be all over the country. The two relationships she had been in if you could even call them that. Ended out of fear she would cheat on them with a player. Or thinking she already was.

But in the end she believed she still had more to learn. She was 18 about to be 19. She was already traveling all over for her job. She didn't need to focus on the what if's of life. She had her whole life in front of her.

Today her team was facing a newly debuted player who was close to her age. She wanted to meet him as it wasn't everyday she got to meet a player around her age. But her plan for filming was to get everyone's idea of how he would be.

She was walking around the field trying to get some ideas in her head about the questions she wanted to ask. "Juan Soto." She said aloud testing the name on her tongue. Trying to see how it would sound.

"Yes?" Was all she heard as player scrambled to get in front of her. Almost looking as though he did something wrong. Her eyes squint against the sun as she takes in his features. This was the newly debuted player!

"Oh I'm sorry! I was just thinking aloud, filming for the team." She smiles up at him. She watches as his eyes fall to her smile. His cheeks going red, sending her is own smile at the situation.

"Ohhh," he lets out his eyes focusing on her every move. He was infatuated. The girl was memorizing the way her features looked under the hot sun. "Maybe you want to record me?" He says with a cheeky smile.

It was that comment that made a light bulb go off in her head. "Ohhh that's a good idea! Thank you." She says as she pats his shoulder. Immediately cringing at herself afterwords. Shaking her head she pulls up her phone camera. "Could you say something like ' my names Juan Soto , player for the nationals' "

"I like the way you say my name." He blurts out his eyes still focused on her every move. Her face heats up. She stumbles over her words for a moment. Having a hard time taking in what was just said to her.

"Thank you I think..?"

She watches as he seems to gain his confidence back. His shy smile now cheeky as he stands up a bit more straight. "Maybe I can get you to say it more."

She watches as his eyes follow her as she lets out a laugh. Her eyes glowing with joy as she listens to his words. "It depends on the context."

"A date maybe?"

She nods her head slowly acting as though she was pondering her thoughts. "Do this recording for me , and I'll think about it." As she gets her photo ready and smiles a bit. She could feel the butterflies dancing in her stomach.

That's how it started. Every year for each time their team played each other, he was hers and she was his.

it was the last game between the Phillies and the nationals. Currently her team was loosing 3-6 in the ninth.  But all she could think about was who she would see after the game.

There was no label on them. At least one that was never spoken aloud. But to them they understood they where only each others. He was the only guy she saw and vice versa.
