"-s bleeding a lot"
"His eyes"
"Hey kid. Can you hear me"
Tries to shake my head but couldn't.
"Blink twice if you can hear me boy." Blinks twice.
"Oh thank god. Get the communication stone and tell the cleric to hold a bed for this kid." Old man reverts back to me "Pray you don't die on the way child."
Thus my first memory of the village ended. I wish they would have just ignored me. At least then they might have survived. My name is Quentin Goldwell. I am a noble. Or at least I was until I was kicked out for being of lowly blood since my mother was a commoner. My father, Duke Edmund Ravenscroft, was the lord of the Ravenscroft Duchy. I had several step brothers and sisters since my mother was 7th in the list of people my father had a child with. You might then think why i didn't introduce my mother's name yet. It's simple. I just don't know. I have met her several times but she and the others just didn't mention her name. I also fled from that hellhole since my so called 'father' didn't care about what happens with me since I have no talent with magic. I was 7 at that time. I was also hunted by my 3rd brother from my 3rd mother, Vlad. Why you may ask? I don't know. He did treat me like a punching bag. Then the usual chase happens, I fall into a river, I lose consciousness, usual stuff. Then unfortunately, I was saved by the apothecary of the Goldwell Village. And yes I took the village name since they were the ones who showed me kindness when I didn't ask for it. This village is what most people would expect. A church in the center. A clinic right next to it. About a 500-600 population. At the outskirts, there is an adventurers guild (spoiler alert: looks tough, but heart of gold). After finding me the old man, Alvin, took me to the church as they have both beds and a lot of clerics who uses healing magic. And as you can guess, I survived. There onwards I lived in the orphanage. Unfortunately, I had some annoying traits that usually comes with noble blood. And in the Ravenscroft household, eyes of a raven and black hair as dark as night was an identifier. I had black hair with heterochromia with red iris in left eye and blue iris in the right. I am guessing it's from my mother's side. Also a lot of freckles as well. Alvin already guessed who I was but fortunately he didn't tell anyone else. Fun fact, He used to work in the capital city of Pendragon Empire. So he knows his stuff. I then lived in the orphanage until I was 18. Now rightly an adult, I could start travelling with out the permissions of the priests and nuns
Hey that's a lot about me huh. Let's introduce this world to you. This world has one continent that consists of various terrains. But 2 Empires, namely Brightwing Empire and Pendragon Empire, rules over the continent with various independent cities and forbidden areas as well. In this world, as you might guess, Power holds everything. Magic and Aura are the key to holding power in this world. How do you think the empires were formed. Both the ancestors were proficient in them. For example, Ancestor of Pendragon was skilled in Air and Fire magic with also being skilled with the sword. While the Brightwing Empire's ancestor was skilled with the lance and shield, while also being skilled in water and earth magic. Mana is used to make magic which helps with materializing the said magic. Aura is something that is used to empower something. Like if you cover a sword with aura it will become sharper and durable, depending on your skill.
The Ravenscroft Duchy resides near the capital of Brightwing Empire and it's territory ends with a tributary of Lake of Gaia. The family was known for their extraordinary skill with the sword and dark magic. They are also most likely the strategists whenever a battle ensues with the other empire as well as the independent cities. The Goldwell village on the other hand is located near the border of Pendragon empire right next to the River of Gaia. The biggest river that flows through and some times acts like border for both the empires and starts from the northern forbidden mountains.
