[Deimos]

Finally something half-decent. Three sevens, a ten and a one? About time! His cards were complete shit today.

"I'll fold." Sanford said, putting his cards down. Oh no he didn't, not after Deimos just got a decent hand.

"Come on, don't be a puss." He rolled his eyes, trying to act casual. Apparently he had a terrible poker face. Well, 2B said so, which made him doubt it. But it wasn't hard to tell Sanford secretly thought that too.

"Alright, alright," Sanford sighed, "I'll call."

Deimos grinned, excited about actually winning for once. "Ready?"

"Sure." Sanford didn't sound that excited about this. Probably because he was about to get his ass beat in poker.

Both dropped their hands onto the table, letting the other see what they had. And just as he thought, Sanford had... A straight.

"You're fucking kidding me." Deimos sat back, glaring at the godforsaken deck. He didn't do anything to it! Well, he killed its owner, maybe. But it was a stack of cards! It shouldn't care!

"Hey, I'm sure you'll figure the game out eventually," Sanford assured him, shuffling the cards into a new deck, "it takes a while, you know."

Deimos grimaced, crossing his arms. He knew how to play poker. He taught Sanford in the first place! The deck was just being an asshole.

Sanford opened his mouth, probably to rephrase, which almost always made Deimos feel better, when a weird bang came from somewhere nearby.

They both paused. It didn't sound like a gunshot. Or an explosion. Just... A bang. He reached down, slowly taking a hold of his gun as he listened for anything else.

He noticed Sanford looking at him, puzzled, and he shrugged in response. Time to figure out what that was, then.

As they walked through the halls it occurred to Deimos that it was windy now. Like. Really windy.

"What do you think that's about?" He asked, gesturing vaguely to the building.

"The light?" Sanford raised a brow, "to see, usually."

"No, not the light," Deimos said, both exasperated and amused, "the wind."

"Oh, that." Sanford tilted his head in thought as they walked, "a new kind of airship, maybe?"

"No shot they have airships now." As unlikely as it was, it sounded fun to hijack some big ass airship. He tried to imagine what kind of tech they'd find on something like that. Laser guns, maybe?

"One way to find out." Sanford gestured to the exit door, "after you."

Deimos grinned, holding his gun up as Sanford hid behind the wall and opened the door for him.

Then, a wave of white slid into the building, burying Deimos. It was freezing! Shivering, he jumped up, backing away for a moment. It was forever ago since he last felt cold! Well, if his memories outside of Nevada were real, anyway.

The wind howled into the building as Sanford was pushing the door, but struggling against both the strong winds and snow blocking the door.

SNOW?! The thought finally processed, but he didn't have time to wonder what was going on. They needed to close that damn door.

Despite still shivering to the point of his teeth chattering, he joined Sanford in shouldering the door. They moved step by step, fighting against the elements every step of the way until...
