Six months had passed since the joyous news of Alisa's pregnancy, and the days melted into weeks as Daniel eagerly awaited the arrival of his new sibling. The forest now echoed with the vibrant colors of spring, a tapestry of green and blooming flowers that heralded the season of rebirth.

One quiet night, Daniel was roused from his slumber by a piercing scream that echoed through the cabin. Heart pounding, he sat up in bed, straining to discern if the sound was real or a figment of his imagination. After a moment of tense silence, he dismissed it as a trick of the night and drifted back into sleep.

The next morning, Daniel awoke to the sound of soft crying echoing through the cabin. With a sense of urgency, he hurried to investigate the source of the commotion, his heart racing with anticipation.

Entering the room, he beheld a scene that filled him with wonder and delight. His parents, Jack and Alisa, stood beside a cradle, their faces aglow with joy as they cradled a tiny bundle in their arms.

"Daniel," Alisa said, her voice filled with tenderness, "meet your new sibling, Athena."

Daniel's eyes widened in amazement as he gazed upon the newborn, the baby's tiny features delicate and angelic. "Is Athena a boy or a girl?" he asked eagerly.

"Athena is a girl," Alisa replied, her smile radiant. "And she is your new baby sister."

As Daniel took in the sight of Athena's gray hair, reminiscent of their mother's own locks, a sudden realization dawned upon him. "You and Athena have the same hair," he exclaimed.

Alisa nodded, her expression tinged with nostalgia. "Yes, it's a special trait passed down through generations on my mother's side."

Curiosity burning within him, Daniel pressed further. "What was Grandma like?"

Alisa's gaze softened with fond memories. "She was a powerful mage, much like myself. But she was also something more—she was an elf."

Daniel's eyes widened in astonishment. "You're an elf?"

Alisa nodded. "Yes, I'm a half-elf, born of both human and elven lineage."

A surge of realization washed over Daniel. *Does that mean Athena and I are part elf too?* he thought to himself, his mind racing with the implications.

Alisa smiled warmly. "Yes, my dear. You and Athena are both part elf, inheriting the magical heritage that flows through your veins."

With newfound understanding and a sense of wonder, Daniel embraced his role as an heir to a legacy steeped in magic and mystery. As he beheld his baby sister, Athena, cradled in the arms of his loving parents, he broached the subject with his parents, his determination shining in his eyes. "Mom, Dad," he began, "I can't shake the memory of the day you both defeated those orcs. I want to learn how to fight like you did, to be able to protect our family if the need arises.”

Alisa responded with a soft smile, "But you are only four, Daniel. You have time to train when you get older."

Daniel felt a surge of protectiveness. *I know, but now that I have a little sister, I want to protect her and be the best big brother to her,* he thought, his resolve firming.

Alisa's heart warmed at his words, though unspoken. "How sweet, I have the best son in the world."

Recognizing the earnestness in their son's request, Jack chimed in, "Of course, Daniel," his voice gentle yet resolute. "But remember, learning to fight takes time and dedication."

"That's fine with me. I will train my hardest so one day I'll be as strong as you two," Daniel declared, his youthful face set in determination.

"Alright, I'll teach you magic, and your father will teach you swordsmanship. Follow me," Alisa said as they stepped outside.
