Freedom Lies Within The Wind

I need to find a way to feel free again, a way where if the opportunity shall arise I will not hesitate to take it. These old, black wings of mine have become dusty from the lack of use and I continue to be in the same position since death claimed everyone in this village. The once somber appearance of this village has changed to that of busy modern times, with bustling cars and people. Many wishing the same as I but they fear the consequences of their actions, thus chaining them even more to the brutal ways of life.

Finally standing up I exited from this rusty and creaky shack and onto the modern world. My emergence causing many to gasp and point, I merely ignored it and walked away from this sorrowful civilization. I walked and walked until I came upon a huge cliff. Looking around I found the place to be desolate and a smile formed on my lips.

This feels more like the home that I used to have. Suddenly a strong wind picked up and my eyes lit up from the brilliant idea that had just come upon me. I shall dive off the cliff.

Taking one quick breath I sprinted towards the edge. As my impending doom loomed closer I could feel the adrenaline rush through my veins, now this is truly how one should live. Reaching the end I dove off, not bothering to spread my wings as I let the wind rush around my body, my hair billowing in the air.

Seeing the dark sky above me reminded me of the days where it would rain and I could not fly and I felt like a caged bird but now I could enjoy the darkness and the wind.

An even bigger smile overtook my face as the ground continued to get closer and closer.

Ah this is how life should feel, an ever falling experience where all you could feel is the weightless and air surrounding you.

Closing my eyes one last time I knew that I had had found the way to feel free without the need of spreading my wings and flying off. My dream had come true.
