ISAAC BANNER, for the first time in his life, was blindfolded. His girlfriend, Ruth Rennells, slowly pushed him along into an unknown building.
“I hope you haven't forgot about our conversation at the store,” said Claude, alongside him, “today will be the start of great things to come.”
The blindfolded man was brought to a halt. Ruth slowly revealed the inside of the building to her boyfriend. It all came back to him, the real reason why Claude had visited.
“Only because Elohim saw it fit that way,” Isaac had said.
“Without a doubt He was behind it all, because I ignored your raps until that final,” Claude had said, “yes, it's true. That final was the game changer. And where I am now is all history, but I had to leave the country to make something happen.”
“Tell me about it, this country is filled with secular artists.”
“And that's more reason for us to push harder,” Claude had said. “How else are they going to hear the Good News? That's why we want you to join us.”
"In the competition?”
“Yes, but also in the project Johnny and I are working on. We would be honoured if you joined us, Isaac.”
“What kind of project?” he had asked.
Ruth removed the blindfold completely. Isaac was paralyzed with joy. Both their families were amongst the people in attendance. Margarette, Luke, the CBM colleagues and some people they didn't even recognize.
The saying always went about one finding love when one’s not looking for it. Isaac had found his love for Ruth early, it was only a matter of time to him. His dream of spreading the Word through music for a living was a dream he chased and chased, but to no avail. No secular label ever got back to him. Then the past revealed itself, upon Luke’s return, which kept him too busy to pursue his dream.
Yet, all along hidden in the chaos. He was being prepared. Elohim put him in situations to build the character he needed to handle the pressure of being amongst secular artists, not being one.
“We welcome you, our brother,” said Claude, who offered a hand to the artist, “to our label . . . C:map Records!”
