I awoke the following morning to see Jack was no longer in bed with me, and his clothes were no longer on the floor beside mine. I didn't think much of it, however, Jack usually gets up pretty early to go and work out or something.

I groggily rolled out of bed, my body hitting the floor with a resounding thud as I crawled over to the door, grabbing the handle with one paw as I forced myself to stand, limping over to the bathroom across the hall and hopping in the shower as my thoughts drifted to why the house was so eerily quiet. Usually, there's at least one or two people that stay to watch TV or something, but today, I couldn't even hear Kazee snoring...

As I hopped out of the shower and dried myself off with a towel, putting on my usual black t-shirt with black pants, draping my hoodie over one of the high top chairs at the bar next to the living room, I looked around, noticing how eerily silent it was here, every room was empty, even the game room, where I figured everyone else would be...I sighed as I curled up on the couch, resting my head on my paws, tucking my legs underneath me and draping my tail over my muzzle, closing my eyes and imagining what they were doing...

I didn't have to imagine for long as I heard the door open...

"Man, what a bust," the voice I soon recognized as Kazee complained.

"Yeah, I never thought I'd see a concert that bad," agreed Midnight and Fade.

"Maybe they were just nervous? It was their first time performing live, after all..." suggested Jack, his deep tone of voice making me melt on the inside. Suddenly, I get an ingenious idea, out of the corner of my eye, I see Jack approaching the couch...Once he was close enough, I let out a playful growl and lunged at him. Unfortunately, I had grossly underestimated his reaction time, so he simply grabbed me by the scruff and planted me on the couch, now straddling my chest.

"D-damn," I mutter, wrapping my arms around his waist, "You're quick, for a fox~"

Jack rolled his eyes, flashing his pearly canines in a soft, sly smirk, laying on top of me and resting his paws on the couch behind my head. "I just have a good reaction speed, that's all~"

I smirk, giggling softly as Jack lovingly kisses my nose, "So, where'd you boys run off to?"

Fade sighs, a look of intense disappointment on his face, "We saw a band by the name of Mutt was in town for the Music Awards they do every year...To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement."

Kazee and Jack nodded their heads in agreement, while I just looked confused, tilting my head slightly, "The band, or the awards?"

Now it was Kazee's turn to complain, "Nah, it wasn't the band...The band was actually pretty sick, playing mostly punk rock shit for their set, not that you could hear it because of the shitty sound setup they gave that poor band."

Jack nodded, sighing in disappointment, "Yeah, the microphones kept cutting out half the fucking time, and you couldn't even hear the guitars because the amps they used kept cutting out..."

I sighed in annoyance and slight disappointment, as a big fan of any music genre with electric guitar, it irks me to no end when I hear about these popular events inviting punk or metal bands to do a set, and giving them the shittiest equipment in the history of the entire world to work with. Like, if you're gonna invite a band to do a show and you tell them you're gonna provide gear for them, at least give them shit that actually fucking works.

Midnight growled to himself as he flopped into the reclining chair, crossing his arms angrily, "And now it's a whole thing on Twitter, too. With the band getting a lot of unnecessary hate for calling out the event organizers for promising to provide gear for the bands...and spending as little money on said gear as humanly possible."
