Grace Jackson (Born April 27, 1949) is an american singer, songwriter, and actress. Known as the "Queen of Rythmn and Soul" or the "Goddes of Fashion", she is widely regarded as one of the most noteable cultural figures and fashion icons of the 20th century.
During her four-decade career, her undeniable passion for music, fashion and TV entertainment has made her a global icon. She had inspired many iconic fashion looks over the years as well as music.
The first born child of the Jackson Family, she made her public debut in 1966 at the age of 17. She released her first album Presenting Grace, in 1969 at the age of 19 years old. While he brother, Michael Jackson, was credited for being the first black artist to appear on MTV, she was credited as the first black female to and have more than two music videos appear on MTV.
From the early 1970s to early 1980s, she became a figure of controversy due to her personal struggles. In late 1982, Jackson was ordered to spend six months in a local rehab center located in beverly hills, california. Starting in the early 1970s, Jackson had fallen victim to the addiction of drugs. After suffering an overdose in november of 1982, she had been ordered to spend six months in rehab. In april of 1983, Jackson was released from rehab but was ordered to be left under supervision of a close family memeber or friend. Her younger sister Rebbie Jackson, her husband and children, lived with Grace in her beverly hills home from may 1983 to january 1984.
Jackson is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with estamated sales of 400 million records worldwide. She has 13 Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles. Her honors include 40 grammy awards, 3 Golden Globe Awards, 12 Emmy awards, 2 Tony awards, and 8 Oscar awards. Her inductions include The Rock and Roll hall of fame, and The Hollywood Walk of Fame (twice).

Grace Jackson was born Lilah Maureen Jackson in Gary, Indiana, on April 27, 1949 to Joseph and Katherine Jackson. Nicknamed "Grace", she is the first of eleven children in the Jackson family, a multi-successful African-American family from a small, two bedroom house on Jackson street. Her father, Joseph Walter Jackson was a former boxer and crane operator at US STEEL. He also played guitar with a local rhythm and blues band called the Falcons to supplement the family's income.
Her mother, Katherine Esther Jackson born Katherine Esther Scruse formely played clarinet and Piano. She was a Jehovah's Witness. Grace grew up with three sisters (Rebbie, La Toya and Janet) and six brothers (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Michael, and Randy). A seventh brother, Marlon's twin brother Brandon, passed shortly after birth.
