Right after dinner, Magnolia walked towards the meeting spot as she said goodbye to her friends, and right there he stood, just waiting for her. It was quite a sight to see him just standing there, waiting for her.

"Eastwood," he acknowledged. "You are a little earlier than usual," said Tom. Well, the Ravenclaw table was rather occupied with Sofia snogging some random ravenclaw, and Levi sat at the Ravenclaw table, watching Bella with the Hufflepuffs.

Her eyebrows rose as she asked him, "Are you paying attention to when I arrive now, riddle?"

"Just an observation." He replied as they started walking around the school.

"I like your ring," Magnolia said while trying to start a conversation. "Where did you get it?"

"It was my mother's," Tom replied blankly, not really interested in talking.

"This was my mother's amulet that her mother gave to her, and now it's passed on to me." She said this as she touched her necklace, remembering the day her mother gave her the amulet.

"It is not necessary for us to speak, Eastwood."

"The two of us will be here for a while, so we might as well have a conversation," she said.

"We used to just say a few words and then walk in silence. I liked that," he said to her coldly. "It must be that friend of yours."

"Have you ever thought of being kind or just being pleasant to others?" She asked, and he rolled his eyes.

"No, why would I?" He replied

"I'm just saying, you don't have to always be so rude."

There was a classroom only a couple of steps away that was making noise that classrooms don't usually make, especially at this time of night. Magnolia looked at Tom, gesturing for him to go and open the door.

Theodore Nott and her best friend Sofia Hale were caught half-dressed.

She sighs, "Really Sof, Theodore, come on," Magnolia said disappointed in her friend.

"Hey, you can't deny he is very attractive." Sofia said this while she and Theo collected themselves.

"Twenty points from Slytherin" Tom said plainly.

"Ten points from Ravenclaw." And as she said, Tom looked at her with a deadpan look.

A sigh escaped her lips as she said, "Fine, twenty points from Ravenclaw."

"Now go" he said, looking at both Theodore and Sofia.

"I thought you were more of a Regulus type of girl" Magnolia shouted at her best friend while she was walking away, going back to the Ravenclaw common rooms.

"And it looks like you're a Rid-"

"Goodnight Sofia" Magnolia said trying to stop her friend from what she was going to say.

"Night Mags" she replied, laughing softly while walking away.

Tom looked at her with a certain expression on his face. "Don't question it" she said.

He nodded, but after some time he thought that maybe killing the silence wouldn't be terrible, so he spoke "The novel you were reading earlier, what was it?"

"Wuthering Heights; I found it over the summer" she replied.

"I've never heard of it before" he said glancing at her.

"It's a beautiful novel. This is my second time reading it. I could lend it to you if you would like; I doubt they have one here at Hogwarts." She says

"That's OK, Eastwood, I don't really think I would prefer to read the type of books you adore" he replied to her. Slightly quickening his pace

It was with much curiosity that she asked, "And what exactly are the types of books that I adore?" She pulled her hair into a ponytail as she spoke.

"You read about tragedy and love within tragedy. You look for books with characters who are the worst of the worst, hoping someone will save their souls from destruction." Tom said

There was no doubt that he was right, but was she really that easy to read? To figure out, she thought to herself.

"I don't see anything wrong with that."

"I never implied that there were, but it's fantasy, you cannot think like that in reality. In reality, you will end up getting killed."

Magnolia kept quiet for the rest of the patrol until it was time for them to split paths when Tom spoke again.

"Life isn't a romance novel, Eastwood."

"Goodnight Riddle."
