The Kwami's choice

"Tikki Spots on!!" Marinette called out, sending Tikki flying into her earrings. Although the girl didn't know it and Tikki had never told her, she could sense and feel everything Marinette could. They were bonded body and soul so she could communicate ideas into Marinette's head as if in a whisper so she never suspected it was Tikki guiding her every step since Tikki already gave her advice throughout the day as Marinette. Tikki loved being Marinette's kwami, and to be honest with herself Tikki thought of Marinette as her favorite chosen. "Move!! Quick Marinette!!" she fervently whispered as she saw Hawkmothura lunge. Ladybug responded immediately, ducking and darting to his other side. They were surrounded and Tikki could feel doubt oozing through her mind, "I can't do this!! I am going to fail, I'm surrounded! What would Tikki say right now?" 

Tikki smiled, "Come on Marinette, think!! You're Ladybug, you always have a plan. Try using your Lucky Charm!!" Ladybug nodded and tossed her yo-yo high into the air "Lucky Char.." Both were caught off guard as a boulder came out of nowhere. A crack sounded, and Marinette's neck snapped as her head was hit and spilt open by the heavy stone. Searing pain shot through Tikki's body and she could feel Marinette's spirit beginning to depart from her body, "No!!" she cried. She reached out with her power and took most of the pain onto herself, drawing Marinette's spirit back into her body which ended the transformation with a flash. Tikki collapsed on the ground trying to breathe as Plagg flew to her side.

 Marinette lay on the ground next to her, pale and weak, blood spilling from her head and Tikki feared the worst. She struggled to float to Marinette's mouth and found that the girl was still breathing but it was very shallow. "Oh, Marinette.." A shadow loomed over them and Tikki lowered her head shuddering in fear. However, a battle cry made her eyes lift to find Kagami standing in front of them, brandishing her sword to protect them from Hawkmoth. She had snuck away to save Marinette on her own while the others were talking. She never was one for plans which usually got her in trouble but this time Tikki, Plagg, and Marinette were glad she chose not to heed them. Alya hurried to Tikki's side quickly checking her over and then dropped to her knees by Marinette who was coming too. "Marinette! You have to stop, You'll bleed to death!!" Marinette shook her head and fought to stand. "Thank you Kagami, Alya, but this is my fight. If I am to die defending my friends from Hawkmoth, I will with no regret." "No!!" Tikki screamed. Marinette looked at her in shock, Tikki had never yelled at her before and the girl's startled look made Tikki feel guilty. 

The kwami sighed, looking at her chosen. "Marinette you are brave and good, and I love you so much. I know you will never understand why I am doing this but please forgive me." "Tikki..what do you mean?" " What I mean Marinette that it's not your duty to fight anymore and that I've made my choice, to save you I must leave." Tikki went and snuggled up against Marinette's cheek one last time before kissing her on the nose, tears spilling from her eyes, " Goodbye Marinette, I love you." Turning away she ignored Marinette's desperate pleas, reaching her paw out to where Plagg was waiting. "Come Plagg it's time." Plagg came to her side and placed his paw in hers their eyes locking in silent agreement. Plagg turned to Marinette, "Tell Adrien that I loved him, will you? He was a good kid, a good friend. Goodbye M'ladyug, you were the best." He turned back to Tikki and together they floated up into the heavens.

Marinette

As soon as Plagg and Tikki's paws met a bright flash surrounded Hawkmothura and he transformed back into Gabriel Agreste. He screamed in anger and ran to attack Marinette, to only be tackled to the ground by the Gorilla, while Nathalie and Emilie watched with disdain. Emilie sighed with sadness her sweet voice lilting, "Why dear Gabriel, why did you have to go this way? I just wanted to see our son happy, that's all he ever wanted although he still missed me."

Marinette wept as she thought of the pain in Tikki's voice when she said goodbye. Now her beloved kwami was beyond her reach, high up in the heavens along with Plagg. The other kwamis stared up into the sky alongside her and Alya and Nino supported her from both sides so she could stand. The rain stopped falling but the dark clouds above them began to swirl, green lightning flashing from them every five minutes. The sky turned purple and the sun disappeared, a silver moon rising in its place. They could hear whispers in the winds, a male and female voice mixed together rising in volume. " I Tikki and I Plagg agree to Unify to make the final wish, to save our loved ones and to stop any evil from ever emerging again." Marinette wobbled dizzily as she tried to stay awake. "Marinette are you alright?" Alya asked, "Yeah Alya, I'll be fine." Marinette blinked at the rain as the voices continued, and she caught sight of the other kwamis lifting into the sky to fly into an aswirl of purple light. "We wish for a miraculous heal, for no more miraculous to exist and all the damage caused since our creation to be repaired, that we will be no more..." Her earrings disintegrated, and Marinette tried to catch the dust as it floated away, "No! Tikki!" She cried. 

The world started fading, and frantic voices and shadows hurried around her. "Marinette hold on." Luka scooped her into his arms as Alya ran by his side and as they rushed to the temple the sky got darker and darker. "She's losing so much blood Nino, we need to stop it! She'll die!" "Why, why?!" Chloe cried, "I can't lose Marinette too. Oh, where's Pollen? I am going to paralyze that horrible man!!" Master Minzhe hurried to Marinette's side, "Oh no. Not her too. I have seen too many Black cats and Ladybugs die, too many. First Jie-Jie then Yu-An from his wounds, Adrien, and now..." Marinette heard no more as everything went black.
