Dayquan's POV, 1 year after Below The Belt, 4 year before On The Ropes
If you would've told me years ago that I'd be in a semi-relationship with someone who is truly just amalgamation of gender identities, I would've called you crazy.
And yet here I am making breakfast, making it look all pretty on a tray with some flowers I bought, and carrying it up to my room where one of my favorite people was currently still sleeping.
I slowly and quietly opened the door with one hand, immediately smiling when I caught sight of that pretty dark skin peeking out from under my sheets.
The blue sheets that she picked up for my room because, and I quote, 'Black sheets? Boring. If you expect me to lay in your bed I expect more flattering colors.'
Anything for her, honestly. I've made a lot of changes around my place for her.
I've made a lot of changes to myself for her.
I love her...
I set the tray of food down on my nightstand, then sat on the edge of my bed and started to gently rub an exposed shoulder. "Marquees." I whispered as I rubbed her smooth skin. One thing about my baby, she take care of herself. "Wake up, shorty. I got somethin' for you."
"Dayquan, get out of my face..." Was her muffled response, making me grin and let out a low laugh.
"Not that—I made you some food, shorty." After I said that, I watched as she sighed and shifted until she was laying on her back. She squinted at me, then slowly blinked until she could fully open her eyes. "There you are, beautiful." I whispered, making her roll her eyes at me.
