Memories of mine

It was a typical day at Lambunao National High School as students rushed to their classrooms, chatting and laughing with their friends. Among the crowd, two best friends stood out - Jay M, a grade 11 STEM student, and Ken, a grade 10 Mabini student. They have been inseparable since they met during a journalism audition for News Casting.

Jay M and Ken were an unlikely pair. Jay M was known for his intelligence and focus on his studies, while Ken was known for his outgoing and friendly personality. Despite their differences, they clicked immediately and became the best of friends.

As the school year went by, Jay M and Ken's friendship grew stronger. They would spend hours after school in the library, helping each other with their homework and projects. They also joined the same clubs and organizations, further strengthening their bond.

However, during their second year of high school, something changed. Jay M started to distance himself from Ken. He would make excuses to not hang out with Ken or to even talk to him. At first, Ken didn't think much of it, thinking that Jay M was just busy with his studies. But as weeks went by, Ken couldn't ignore the obvious change in their friendship.

Ken couldn't understand why Jay M was suddenly avoiding him. They used to be so close, sharing everything with each other. Ken missed their late-night talks and their inside jokes. He couldn't help but feel hurt and confused.

One day, Ken mustered the courage to confront Jay M. He asked him why he was acting differently towards him. Jay M hesitated at first but eventually confessed that he had heard rumors about Ken being bisexual. Ken was taken aback by this revelation. He didn't understand why his sexual orientation would affect their friendship.

Feeling embarrassed and exposed, Ken tried to explain to Jay M that he was indeed bisexual but it shouldn't change anything between them. However, Jay M couldn't handle the news. He told Ken that he couldn't be friends with someone who was attracted to the same gender.

Ken was devastated. He couldn't believe that their friendship was based on such shallow grounds. He thought Jay M was different from the rest, that he would accept him for who he was. But he was wrong.

From that day on, Jay M completely cut off ties with Ken. He wouldn't even look at him or talk to him. Ken was left alone, feeling rejected and betrayed by his best friend.

Months went by and Ken still couldn't move on from what happened. He couldn't understand why Jay M had to distance himself from him just because of his sexual orientation. He missed their friendship and longed for things to go back to how they were before.

One day, Ken heard that Jay M was transferring to another school. He couldn't believe it. He knew he had to talk to Jay M before he left. He wanted to make things right between them, to make Jay M understand that being bisexual didn't change who he was as a person.

Ken went to Jay M's classroom and saw him packing his things. With a heavy heart, he approached Jay M and apologized for not telling him about his sexuality sooner. Jay M remained silent, his back facing Ken.

Just as Ken was about to leave, Jay M turned around and hugged him tightly. He apologized for his actions and admitted that he was scared and didn't know how to handle the situation. He also confessed that he missed their friendship and didn't want to lose Ken as his best friend.

Tears streaming down their faces, Jay M and Ken reconciled and promised to always accept and support each other, no matter what. As Jay M left the school, Ken realized that true friendship knows no boundaries and can survive any challenges, even when faced with differences.
