Chapter 1: When Fear Begins

It was hard to find my way home because it was getting dark, I had caught a rabbit and we could finally eat something edible for the first time in five days. I could see our house afar, a bedroom flat with no fence. Ever since the death of my father, i felt out of this world especially since my father was one of the debtors in our community and had died few years back leaving Momzie with the responsibility of paying the debts and taking care of me and my sister, Addy.
"Addy, open the door jare!", I shouted and bagged into the house "Where's Momzie?"
"She's not around, why do you seem unusual today?", she said and frowned. I hardly shouted at my sister but I had been out in the farm on an empty stomach, "so what are you holding?" She added.
"Addy sorry, you know I haven't eaten and our life here just keeps pissing me off", I buried my head and kicked the lifeless rabbit to her, "I'll just go to bed and this time you and Mama should sleep on the sofa, because it is uncomfortable for me". I walked to the bathroom and in few minutes retired to bed.
"Oh Addy how's Prince....ummmm....William, did he ask of me? Did you see him? What did he tell you?"
"Well, I didn't see Prince today, so just sleep lover babe"

Few minutes to 12:00, i heard a knock at the door.
"Momzie!!?", i said in exictment.
"No, it's.... yo..ur..mom. Oh my God , she.."
I opened the door and met our neighbour shivering. "What happened to my Momzie", i said in fear.
"She....she has been...."

"She....she has been.... kidnapped", she came in and sat on a chair "I got a call from an unknown number demanding for a ransom of ten million for her release"
I could hardly hear what she said admist my tears.
"Gracie, why are you crying?", i heard someone behind me saying and that's when i noticed that my sister was awake.
"Oh nothing, i just had an upset stomach", i replied and forced a smile.
"Then what was that woman doing here? What did she tell you?"
"Addy, why don't you just rest. Nothing is at hand ..... Goodnight"
I stayed awake that night dozing off and crying , I wrote a short note and ran out of the house since everything was just too much to bear.
Addy POV
The sun reflection of the sun beamed into my eye as i woke up. Sitting on the sofa, i noticed a piece of paper and curiously opened it.
"I'm sorry Addy, i don't want to break your heart but i got to tell you this. Mama was kidnapped on her way home with no trace, i know it's too much to bear but i'm always with you. See you at Prince's place"
I didn't even notice the tears rolling down my cheek. "Momzie was kidnapped with no trace", i fell to the ground as i thought of everything. I felt sober but something kept flashing to my mind.
I remembered seeing a man with hoodies walking at our back that morning while we were all heading to Momzie's shop, i also noticed that he had a particular scar on his left finger but there was a missing puzzle. I stayed at home till evening and then set out to Prince's house. Walking down the street, i couldn't help but notice strange men roaming around and i curiously hide behind a building but strangely the men all left following a guy in hoodie.
I got to Prince's place safely and ran straight to the bedroom and i told my sister everything i saw earlier. She felt i was going crazy but at that moment i saw a reflection on the window. The same man in hood, he had red eyes and hair with a scar near his left eyebrow, he smirked at me and then left.....
This is the beginning of the mystery, watch out for chapter 2
