I was really confused, so I decided to watch some horror movies as I was obsessed with them, but thinking about it, my life was the exact description of a horror movie. Argh! I sought a pastime to keep myself enthralled, so I took up Momzie's journal and began reading it.
(Note: We'll be talking about Morita's journal from now on)

Hey diary, I've just been married for a few years, but I'm having issues - lots of them. My husband, Lucas, lost his job a few days back, and he's been drinking all day, which is really pissing me off. Sometimes I wonder where he gets the money to buy that alcohol; I just hope he's not taking my money. I'll suspend writing for now; I have to cook for Lucas. Argh!

Something freaky happened yesterday; I went to the hospital for a checkup and later found out that I was pregnant. It's freaky because my husband doesn't want children, but the pregnancy is still his fault anyway. Well, all I have to bother about is how to tell Lucas, as he might go wild on finding out. I won't be writing much here, as I'm busy, and when I say busy, I mean really occupied.

Hey, it's been a very long time. Well, I've got two kids now - Gracie and Addy; they are really my world, as Lucas is filing for a divorce. I really couldn't say anything; he hasn't been working for the past five years, and we were now in debt - sorry, I meant "he" is in debt. There's something that's been bothering my mind for a very long time. You know, sometimes I always see strange figures at night, and it seems they're after me. I've never gotten a chance to see its face, as it was all clothed in a black garment; it seems really scary, but I just try to push it aside by saying it's just my imagination.

I'm really depressed as I'm writing this. My daughter, Gracie, fell down the stairs and has lost her memory; Lucas would soon file for a divorce, Addy is sick, and my shop has been rented out, as I couldn't pay the bills when due. I've written to my sister, Mia, who's in the United Kingdom, and she suggested taking Addy when she's fourteen - that would be a long time, as she's just two, but it will still be okay. I hope things get better. ~Morita

I was really getting bored; I kept on reading, but she kept on talking about her boring life, financial issues, and fears. I wasn't trying to insult Momzie, but believe me, I kept dozing off while reading it; I closed the book and left for Ava's place.

(Ava is a friend of mine from school; we met at a park where her bike tire was flat, and I had to let her use mine.)

Actually, I sneaked out of the house to meet Ava on a particular night, mainly because I was bored. So I suggested that we go for a stroll around the street, and along the way, Ava got bitten by a snake. Her parents hated me after that day and swore to pay me back, which got me scared.

A petite-looking figure opened the door, staring at me for a long time before saying, 'Hey gal, long time. I can see you haven't grown tall yet. Come in'.

I smiled at her and walked inside. "Are your parents around? I don't think they'd really love to see me." "Nope, what happened then wasn't your fault by the way," she said, while handing me a cup of water, "So Marian, you've been absent from school for two weeks. What's up? Never seen my geeky friend miss school before." "I've just got things up my sleeves that I need to sort out; nothing much. I'll resume tomorrow."

We had a brief conversation till evening, and I left for Prince's house. On the way, I decided to pick my sister up from school, but I saw her running a few miles ahead of me. I got scared, thinking something bad had occurred, so I ran after her till I got to the doorstep.

"Addy, what's up? Why were you running?" I said, panting. "Nothing, Marian, just wanted to exercise," she said, walking into the room, but I held her hand angrily. "So you just gonna tell me that I ran all the way home for nothing? You know I could have used that energy to do a lot of things. I could have..." I was still talking, but then I noticed Addy wasn't even there. "Take a shower and rest. I'll be preparing dinner."

Wait...I guess you guys are all confused; I'll clarify things. I'm Gracie Marianna, but some of my friends refer to me as 'Marian'; I'm seventeen years old, while my sister is fourteen. I'm in my last year of high school, and I've got five close friends who you'll later get to know.

Later, the following day, I took Addy to the embassy, and we cleared all the various processes. Her flight was scheduled for the twenty-fifth of that month, which meant we had a few days to be together. It was really depressing to be alone, especially with the current happenings. I began telling my sister about all that I had read in Momzie's journal.
"So dad really wanted to leave, and you lost your memory?" "Yeah, but yet I don't think he left. You know, it's possible that he just went out one morning and never came back, as he didn't carry any of his stuff." "That sounds strange to me too; why don't we take up this matter?" Addy said, as we arrived at Prince's place. "I feel we should tell the Police Officers, but...Gracie, have you noticed anything weird lately?" "Yeah, I never wanted to tell you, but I saw a strange man in a hood transforming into something like a demon; I also remembered something when I was young. I saw that strange figure again, and there's also a strange writing in my journal." "Let's check out Momzie's journal first; we might find some suspicious stuff there."

We sat on the bed while reading Momzie's journal. Momzie kept writing about her daily life and some other stuff, so I just got up from the bed. But while leaving the room, Addy asked me why I wasn't reading anymore, so I just thought of a quick response and said, "I would be resuming school tomorrow, so I'd have to prepare, and besides...I need answers, not this crap."
Chapter 5 is gonna be epic.
Hint: Trouble at school. Will Gracie cope alone? Will she find the answers she needs? Watch out for chapter 5.
