There lived a king, Tom was his name. He was the most powerful ruler in the entire world at the time I am writing this tragedy, but even with all of his wealth and power he still felt incomplete, empty - almost inadequate to rule his country, if you will. So after feeling this way for quite some time after he took over the throne, he finds a way to fill the emptiness, and hearing this brings us to the beginning of the bad fortune of King Tom.
A wife! A wife is what the king needed. Someone to be there for him through war and peace, wealth and meager, through good condition and bad. There were plenty, plenty of princesses that Tom could've chosen to be his bride. But it was the nanny who was hired to sit his younger siblings that caught his eye.
Julia. Her name was Julia. And she was perfect. Standing at a petite five feet, two inches she was almost a whole foot shorter than King Tom, but her personality was just as robust and boisterous as his. During their courtship, the two were inseparable. Almost as if she was his queen already, Julia attended all of the important government assemblies and all of the royal balls as his date. This courting relationship went on for only a few short months before King Tom asked her to be his wife.
Although Julia knew she was thoroughly in love with him and wanted to be with him for the rest of her life, she said yes with hesitation. She was a nanny! A nanny for Christ's sake! What about all of the available princesses? Like Princess Violetta, from Shownbrook. She stood at a sturdy five feet, nine inches, which would bless their future children with better chances for tall genes. Height shows superiority, and considering what happened to the Frenchman Napoleon, it was very sought after.
Or Princess Carol from Monstrough. She was considered the smartest female in the world! Attending private schools meant for boys and having her parents hire her a tutor definitely meant that she valued education and would probably want her kin to have the same one as her - a good one. Whereas Julia could only offer lessons of sewing or baking because she received no formal education. Which wasn't uncommon for women in that era, but smart genes on both sides of the family would be more promising for a successful lineage.
Or even Princess Penelope from Hurtsmorovin. She was beautiful! Her hair was a dark brunette and her eyes were a shining brown as well. Unlike Julia's faded blonde hair and dim sapphire eyes. Penelope was also very curvaceous and bosomy, when Julia was narrow and pole like. Her personality was also peachy. She was quiet and proper, as a lady should be, but she could also hold a serious conversation and be somehow humorous all at once. Julia, she could be only one of two things: taciturn or gregarious. There was no gray space, no in between. Julia was black and white, like a book, and Penelope's versatility was also another favorable trait that was looked for in a spouse.
And it was yet another trait Julia did not possess.
And even with her doubts, they were married shortly after his proposal in the gardens of their castle. It was a quaint ceremony, with only Julia's immediate family along with her one uncle, Frederick, and Tom's mother -since his father had died a while ago - as well as the castle staff.
Julia was adjusting well to queen hood, and was doing a better job than she ever thought she would. She now thinks that her uncertainty was foolish and she never should have doubted herself.
Not long after the wedding, the royal couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, whom they named Rose Olivia. Tom and Julia loved their child with all of they had, but there was a problem, King Tom didn't have a son to inherit the throne, so this is why they decided to have their second child, but it was a girl - again. Lily May was her name, and again the couple loved her, and her sister, with all they had.
Julia's health has deteriorated greatly from giving birth, and she is now very weak, but the royal doctor said that in a few months, with rest and medicine, she should be fine to continue on with her busy life, but he also said that even though her health would be great and stable again having more children probably wouldn't be the best idea. Julia did as the doctor said and rested, took her medication, and even hired a nanny to care for her children - something she swore she would never do - so she could focus on her recovery. And in four long months, she was almost as healthy as she was before she gave birth to Lily.
