After getting Caine Accardi's whereabouts, I stood on the phone disappointed. My men did a great job of keeping tabs but couldn't find anything incriminating on him.

"So, Accardi is home now?"

"Yes, Mr. Walsh."

"Okay, I need someone to watch the house in case he leaves. The bar fight wasn't enough to prove his incompetence. Especially since the men came to his establishment."

"Yes, sir."

I hung up knowing there was a chance that Caine could take my spot as headmaster at Haldon Manor. His father and uncle are well respected here and amongst the elders.

To me, Accardi is a joke and has no experience in true leadership and discipline. Everyone else seems to think otherwise, but I've seen nothing of him that proves this belief.

Although there was no interest from him for the headmaster position, I still didn't want to risk it.

I sat in my office trying not to let frustration take over me. Even Dr. Walters took up for him. It was absolutely ridiculous.

Caine being part vampire didn't change my opinions of him. He will always be a savage mutt, no matter his status or wealth. He's a brute with no class like the rest of the werewolves and has no place amongst us in the manor.

No one saw him how I did, including Priestess Mara. She was the head Elder who gave the final say on what's right or wrong in our covenant. I honestly believe she has a thing for Accardi and would throw anyone under the bus to save his ass.

Knock! Knock!

"Come in."

"Mr. Walsh, they have information on the home Caine was at before going to his bar."

"Okay..."

My secretary handed me a folder. When I opened it, a smile appeared on my face the more I read.

"Hmm, beautiful girl. She looks familiar."

I stared at her picture, unable to fathom why this woman would be interested in the likes of Caine Accardi. They were night and day, good and evil, angel and demon.

"Symone Riley comes from a two-parent home with one sibling, graduated top of her class, accountant at the prestigious Strauss Accounting Firm...and she's human."

My laugh couldn't be contained.

Dating, marrying, or procreating with humans were heavily frowned upon. Mara is a big advocate of our kind, aka supernaturals sticking with our own.

"Thank you, Cindy."

"You're welcome."

My secretary left, closing the door behind her. I leaned back, planning my next meeting with the elders.

Caine should be banned for the manor, and with this new info, I'm sure Myra will see things my way.

But I couldn't stop staring at Symone's picture. I felt like I've seen her before, and I'm going to do some more research until I find out what's so familiar about her.

***

My ex-husband is seeing a helpless little human. I guess he couldn't find a vampire or at least a werewolf to take my place.

We've been divorced for years, which wasn't what I wanted. He pushed it on me. I guess some men can't handle their women being more powerful than them.

My life as the leader of a witch coven was predestined. I loved my husband and still do till this day. That will never change, but I was going to fulfill my purpose, and I have.

I've lost him, and I can get him back. Our love runs too deep for him not to still have a flame burning inside for me.

We met young and I couldn't stay away from him. My mother and everyone around me said he was bad news... they were right. But he was MY bad news, and I loved everything about him.

Caine was a protector, provider, friend, and lover with a touch of deranged and savagery.

The first night we spent together was soul shaking. I knew we were made for each other, and I would go to the ends of the earth for him. To the dismay of my family, we ran away together and got married.

Our marriage only lasted for two years, but those were the best years of my life. I'm now a high-rank witch with a large following that'll bow to my feet if told to do so.

I miss Caine so much, especially the way he would fuck me like I had the last pussy on the planet. I've tasted his blood before so we've always had a connection regardless of how far apart we were.

No matter who he messed with I always had a place in his heart and thoughts. Then all of sudden my connection to him was broken.

I couldn't feel his energy nor hear his thoughts. It was the most emptiest feeling I've ever experienced.

So I went to see the reason for this sudden disconnect...a fucking human.

I was repulsed listening to her scream his name in passion and watching him smile while he blissfully tortured her body with intense pleasure.

I need another one, baby.

Caine's confidence pissed me off yet turned me on. I sent a creature of the night to pay them a little visit. She ran away but my stubborn ex went and found her again.

I knew he would be determined to have her so I focused on keeping her away. Scaring her was so much fun but unfortunately she's a believer and those bible verses weren't just words on a page when she spoke them.

Faith of mustard seed they say and it's true. Luckily not everyone believes in a higher power and that definitely makes things a lot easier for me.

I just found out her name is Symone. That name sent chills through my body and I want to know why. I'm sure it's the reason my connection with Caine was disconnected.

Maybe she's not just another helpless human after all.

I'm not discouraged. I love that man too much to give up now. Besides, divorced or not, my name is still Leona Accardi.

I'll just have to let Symone know that and realize her time with Caine is up.

Enjoy him while you can.
