Emma pov
"You know how you were looking for the author but could never find him?" August asked us. I nodded and waited for him to continue.
"That's because he's in the book." He flipped open to a page of a painted door.
"Uh huh sure and how do you propose we get him out?" I stared at him incredulously. How could someone be trapped in a book, a book that they wrote no less?
"With this." Henry held out a key, he put it against the door and turned it, like he was actually opening a door. The page glowed and the door opened, it glowed even brighter until the room was bathed in light.
"That's incredible, that kind of magic is insanely powerful, I wonder how they did that." Bonnie muttered. I could understand her enthusiasm, ever since I learned about my power I wanted to control it more and more, and learn as much as I can about other magic too.
"You can study it later." Jeremy chuckled. The light receded, revealing a man wearing clothes from a different era. My parents gasped, I turned toward them and was met with angry glares.
"You! You were the one in the forest! You're the author?!" Mary Margret screamed, while David stood ready to attack, fury radiating off of both of them.
"Wait what forest?" Confusion colored Elena's face and the others. The guy only paid attention to my parents, stuttering out sentences that weren't coherent. Fear was evident in his eyes as David walked closer and then he did the stupidest thing anyone ever did, he fucking ran.
"Damn it!" I yelled prepared to run after him but Klaus, Bonnie, Kol and Tyler beat me to it, looking like blurs as they did.
"How did you know him?" Elijah asked my parents as soon as they were gone.
David awkwardly cleared his throat, looking away from us, me especially as he answered. "He led us to the sorcerer which uh um helped us ensure Emma's goodness." Their eyes widened in shock. I refused to meet my parents eyes, feeling Mary Margret's stare bore into me. I was pissed what they thought they had to do to "ensure my goodness" as they put it. It made me think that they wouldn't have loved me if I turned out evil, I had to be good or I wasn't worth it.
"What do you mean?" Caroline asked. David and Mary Margret sighed as they set out to explain the story of me. I growled as I put my head against the island, disappointment surged through me. As they spoke I heard nothing, willing myself not to hear the words that led to me to stop believing in my parents. I focused instead on the cuts in the wood, tracing them as I etched them into my memory.

Klaus pov
We followed him silently through the dark streets. He ran in random directions, stopping right before Mr. Gold's shop. It was still entwined in Bonnie's magic, blackness bound itself to the shop, making sure no one could leave. Bonnie grinned, happy that her magic was strong.
The man budged the door open and ran inside, the door banging shut behind him. We walked slowly toward the door, staying close to the building to hear what was going on inside.
"Who are you?" Gold asked weakly. I smirked happily, we had injured him, that was good.
"The author, and you are Rumpelstiltskin." The author replied. There was a gasp and rustling as Gold tried to get up.
"You can help me get my happy ending. You will help won't you?" It was phrased as a question, but I could hear the threat behind it. We growled lowly, if Gold got his happy ending, everything could change. Villains would get happy endings and heroes would get the villains' fate. As a former "villain" that would definitely not be good.
"Yes but we need ink, you know how to get it?"
"The blood of the savior turned dark." Our eyes widened. They were planning on turning Emma bad. We were going to have to find a way to kill him one way or another.
"He can't get out can he?" I whispered to Bonnie.
"Nope, anybody who goes in can't get out but I don't know how long it'll last." She answered.
"It doesn't matter now, as long as there stuck for now that gives us a head start, we should probably go back now." I said. They nodded in agreement and we sped back towards Emma's apartment.
