Exam season was approaching, and it was approaching fast.

Like others, you were unprepared and procrastinating like there is no tomorrow. But not Jason. No Jason wouldn't be caught dead procrastinating.

The slam of notebooks made you groan as Jason stared down at you.

"Two hours.. that's all you need to do today.." Jason sternly states.

You pouted, sitting up in your seat. This was gonna be hell. Studying math with Jason was like doing math homework with your dad. It fucking sucked.

"Why math.. can't we study like... science or something.." you complained.

"How'd your last exam go?"

Ouch.

As you slowly dragged the notebooks to be in front of you, Jason pulled out the chair next to you and sat down. You stared at him, probably longer than you should've, in confusion.

Jason always sat in front of you when you studied with him. He claimed it was better for "focus"  purposes. Brushing past this, not wanting to overthink, you pulled out a pen and opened up his notebook.

"Ok.. so what first.." you said harshly.

Jason reached over, turning the notebook pages until he landed on the content you had to go over. Without saying a word, he pointed to a question before withdrawing.

The proximity wasn't the issue here. It was the body language. His actions. It was making your mind wander in ways it has never before. He was always patient, kind, and caring towards you. He was like that with everybody. But he was never this nice. Or maybe he was and you are only starting to notice now.

Jason's arm touched yours as he pointed out your mistakes, gently talking you through the problem.

"Do you understand it now? Or should I explain again" He asks, his head tilted as he looks over to you.

Oh god, he was so close. Why is he suddenly so close?

"Explain... again..." you respond, feeling more stupid the more he talks.

Jason grins, turning back to look at the problem and explaining it just like you asked. He turns to look at you again, his eye contact making you look away.

"It's not that hard," he says, "try it and just ask when you get stuck.."

"Easy for you to say..." you quietly say, picking up your pen.

His eyes remained on you as he leaned his head into his arm against the table. You cleared your throat, causing him to turn back to his work. An awkward silence filled the air, the only sound being the pounding of your heart.

"This sucks..." you blurt out, confused yourself about what you are referring to.

"Which part?" Jason responds, his voice tickling your ear as he leans towards you again. His hand comes to rest on your thigh as his other picks up the notebook to study your work.

You hold your breath, eyes glued to his hand.

"You just forgot the negative sign," he points out, setting the notebook back down and removing his hand away from you. "You got this...be easy on yourself..." he affirms, glancing over to you.

"Thanks..."
