Introduction

Hello! My name is Lori, and I am a Task Coordinator for the Centauri Syndicated Hive Mind! Recently I was promoted to the position as a Recruiter as well, which is why I am currently writing this booklet for all you singlies to read!

As you may know, the percentage of Centaurians current in various hive minds across our brownish homeworld is around twenty-seven percent! I hope this booklet has some effect on changing that, as there really are many benefits to becoming part of a hive mind!

While joining just any hive mind may be best for you, you should really join ours! After all, we are much better than those nasty Liquidators that have been snatching you all up as of late.

There is no need to fear having your personality overwritten with most hive minds, even if the worry could be considered reasonable!

Common Concerns

As you may know, the first fully programmable neural interfaces were created in a country formerly known as Terailia, by one Gote Dubois in the year 533.

Lauded as one of the greatest inventions of the fifth century, Dubois was able to prove that it was possible to program not only the device feeding information to the brain, but also program the neurons themselves.

This led to a number of massive advancements in processing and biology, ultimately setting the precedent that silicon computing was out of date and that the potential of biological computing was much higher.

A decade later we had created a number of programs capable of running within the neural pathways of our own brains, and even a number of ways to enhance the processing power of them. A large part of this was early neural enhancements, things such as supplements and programming which led to the brain growing denser and with more neural connections.

Hormones to produce more veins and a higher amount of blood flow to the brain, at the cost of a much higher nutrient consumption rate.

By the 540s we had become masters of our own minds... Which is when a specific project was created via a public-private partnership with the Terailian government and the Gote Corporation.

The project was a simple idea, as opposed to simply producing secure programs that run fully within the mind of one with a neural interface, instead the focus should be on allowing mass communication and the sharing of mental, emotional, and strategic resources and intelligence across an entire network of interconnected minds.

It was the first attempt at the creation of a hive mind.

The project was publicly reported as a failure in 543 and the Gote Corporation was put up for liquidation two weeks later, however as we know today that was not entirely true.
