Hema stepped closer, her concern evident in the way her brow furrowed. She placed a comforting hand on Y/N's shoulder, her touch warm and familiar.

"Y/N," Hema said softly, "you know you can tell me anything, right? We've always shared everything, big or small."

The sincerity in Hema's voice threatened to shatter the dam Y/N had so carefully constructed. Here, in the warm embrace of her sister's love, the lie felt suffocating. But the contract, the fear of jeopardizing Jungkook's career, it held her back.

Y/N squeezed Hema's hand, her voice barely a whisper. "It's… it's just been a long day. The train ride, the goons, now this whole pretending to be married…"

Hema listened patiently, her gaze unwavering. Y/N knew she wasn't buying it completely. Taking a deep breath, Y/N decided on a partial truth.

"Di," she began, "there's something I haven't told you… about Jungkook."

Hema's eyes widened with curiosity. "What is it? Is there something wrong?"

Y/N hesitated, choosing her words carefully. "There's a reason we're staying here. It's a… business arrangement."

Hema raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "Business, huh? Sounds intriguing. Is it some kind of marketing campaign? A secret project?"

Y/N's cheeks burned with shame. Hema, with her sharp intellect, was getting closer. But she couldn't reveal everything, not yet.

"Something like that," Y/N mumbled, avoiding Hema's gaze.

Hema sighed, her smile fading. "Y/N, if something is bothering you, you can't bottle it up. You know you can trust me with anything."

The truth hung heavy in the air, unspoken but a constant weight. Y/N yearned to confide in her sister, to share the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside her. But the fear of judgment, of Hema's reaction, kept her tongue tied.

Just then, the sound of footsteps on the stairs reached them. Jungkook appeared in the doorway, his hair slightly damp, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. The sight of him sent a jolt through Y/N, a reminder of the tangled web she was weaving.

"Dinner smells amazing," Jungkook remarked, his voice laced with a charm that felt dangerous in the close confines of the kitchen.

Hema offered him a warm smile. "It's almost ready, Jungkook. Come, set the table while we finish here."

As Jungkook disappeared into the dining room, Hema turned back to Y/N, her gaze still questioning.

"We'll talk more later, okay?" Hema said gently, her voice laced with concern.

Y/N could only nod, the burden of her secret a heavy weight in her heart. The charade had begun, a dance on a tightrope with her loyal sister watching from the sidelines. Y/N knew she couldn't keep Hema in the dark forever, but for now, the truth remained locked away, a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.

The clinking of plates and the murmur of conversation filled the air as they settled around the dining table. Hema, ever the gracious hostess, peppered Jungkook with questions about his career and his life in Korea. Jungkook, usually comfortable in the spotlight, seemed slightly flustered by Hema's genuine curiosity.

"So, Jungkook here you go your favourite y/n told me," Hema said, spearing a piece of chicken to jk and chapti to y/n as she like vegetarian food, "you know about my like but you're not eating chicken...?!" Jungkook asked her after watching her taking vegetable curry. "Haha she never ate non veg food only egg she ate...in the name of non veg..." Hema pulled her leg which made her more awkward Even her idol was laughing on her. "Di Eveyone have a choice na...and it's my choice..." She said while making annoying face. "Sorry y/n" she playfully teased her.
"So coming to you jungkook tell me, what's your favorite part about being a K-pop idol?"

Jungkook paused, taking a thoughtful sip of his water. "Honestly," he began, his gaze flickering towards Y/N, "it's the connection with the fans. The energy they bring to the concerts, the messages of support… it's truly inspiring."

Y/N caught his eye, her heart skipping a beat under his warm gaze. Was there a hidden meaning in his words, or was she just imagining things?

"That's lovely," Hema chirped, oblivious to the unspoken exchange. "Y/N, tell Jungkook about your crazy fan days. Remember when you snuck out to see BTS that time?"

Y/N's cheeks flushed crimson. "Di !" she exclaimed, mortified. "That was ages ago!"

Jungkook chuckled, a rich sound that sent shivers down Y/N's spine. "Don't worry," he said, his voice low and teasing, "your secret's safe with me. After all, I used to sneak out to attend underground rap battles back in the day."

Hema raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eyes. "Really? Tell me more about this rebellious side of yours, Jungkook!"

The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared stories. Y/N found herself drawn to Jungkook, a different side of him emerging in the warmth of Hema's kitchen. He was still the K-pop idol, charming and magnetic, but there was a layer of vulnerability beneath the surface, a quiet strength that resonated with her.

As the meal drew to a close, a comfortable silence settled between them. Hema, sensing their unspoken connection, excused herself with a wink.

"I'm going to finish some dishes I need to wash them," she announced. "You two… make yourselves at home and you y/n go and sleep you don't need to come wash the dishes with me...go..."

Y/N and Jungkook exchanged a hesitant glance. Now that they were alone, the weight of the charade pressed down on them.

"So," Jungkook began, breaking the silence, "what would you like to do now?"

Y/N shrugged, unsure how to proceed. "Nothing I'll sleep maybe but I have to study as well..."

Jungkook smiled, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Umm...okay...let's go than..."

"What...?!" Y/n got shocked when he said that.

"I mean both of our room's at second floor...I'm going...if you want to sleep than come..."

Full from dinner, Jungkook pushed back from the table. He glanced back, seeing Y/N trailing him as he headed upstairs. Their rooms were across from each other, his closer to the stairs.

He slowed down, letting the silence stretch. Reaching his door, he paused, feeling her presence behind him. He turned, and their eyes met. A nervous smile played on Y/N's lips.

"Goodnight," she said softly.

Jungkook felt a flutter in his chest. "Goodnight, Y/N."

He slipped into his room, the click of the door echoing. Y/N lingered, a mix of emotions swirling within her. With a shaky breath, she turned to her own room, eight steps away that suddenly felt like miles.

Closing her door, Y/N couldn't shake the image of Jungkook's eyes. This charade was a whirlwind, and tonight, sleep was far from her mind.
