Shikha ma'am started the presentation and I kept looking at him. I left his house that day, without any answers, but I need them now.

"That's it from my side, Mr Oberoi, I hope you like our presentation," she said sitting down.

"Did I ask you to sit?" he said in an authoritative tone and she fumbled smiling awkwardly as she stood up. Even I stood up from my chair thinking he never asked me to sit as well.

He glanced at me, as I saw his head tilt a little. But he ignored me, I guess.

"Your good-for-nothing presentation was extremely shitty..." he dragged the phrase good-for-nothing and her eyes widened. What is happening?

"Shikha," she said barely above a whisper.

"Whatever," he said arrogantly waving his hands. Why is he being so rude to her?

"I'm sorry sir, I'll definitely do better, please give us a chance, we really need the funding" she was so close to begging. Or more like corporate begging.

He huffed and looked at me once again.

I scrunched my eyes pleading him with my eyes to say something, I don't even know if he recognises me but I tried.

"One week" he said and got up to leave that's when I followed him outside. He was accompanied by 3 guards and moving them was like moving mountains but I screamed.

"Aksh!!!"

He stopped in his tracks and I was panting a little.

"I want to...talk" I said as he moved towards to face me. He didn't even remove his shades and nodded.

We walked towards the canteen and stood near the corridor.

"What...what are you doing here?" I asked fidgeting with my dupatta.

He glanced over at me and put his hands in his pocket.

"What do you mean?" he asked in a distant voice.

"Did you...did you know about papa?" I asked with tears gulping.

"Yes," he acknowledged.

"Were you...trying to find us?" I asked hopeful.

"No" he replied straightforwardly.

I didn't even know if my heart could break one more time but I think it did.

"Kabir jiju and Aisha...were they trying to find me?" I asked.

"You never contacted them," he said casually.

"I...I didn't" I accepted. It was my fault for not being able to even talk about what was going on. The news of the divorce didn't shock Kabir Jiju, because I thought he knew about it but it did shock Aisha. And she kept calling and messaging me until I broke the old SIM and changed numbers. Some trusted guards even after leaving the job tried to maintain our fake identity and trying to help us. But now, they can't do anything more than this, so I decided to just leave it all to fate.

"Please, Aksh," I said moving towards him as I tried to hold his arm but he moved back. Like he's disgusted with my touch. I clenched my fist with the hand that was trying to hold him. I got my hands back. Maybe because I look like a poor person, my clothes are not the best quality and I'm not the princess anymore, he might not touch me.

"I have a meeting," he said and started moving towards the exit while I stood there lifeless, motionless. I grabbed the nearby wall and took the support as I sat down on the floor, crying my eyes out.

I came back and dropped my bag on the couch and held maa from the back and hugged her tightly.

"What happened, bacha?" she asked worriedly.
