3 years later...

"Akshat ji, mujhe jana hai us reunion mein, you know kitne baar mujhe Sid ka call aaya that they are going for a trip, aap sun kyu nahi rahe meri baat, I'm saying mujhe shopping jana hai gifts and all lene, subah se keh rahi hu aapse, ab to shaam bhi hogyi, aap hai ki-"

(Akshat ji, I have to go to that reunion, you know how many times Sid called me saying that they are going for a trip, why aren't you listening to me, I'm saying I have to go shopping to buy gifts and all, I've been telling you since morning, now it's already evening, it's up to you-)

"Jaana, do minute" he said showing his palm as he continued to work on his laptop,

(My love, two minutes)

"Kabse aap do min- do min kar rahe hai, abhi suniye!" she said again stomping her foot,

(You've been saying 'two minutes' for how long now, listen to me now.)

"Hanji sun raha hu, ruk jao" he said again focusing his eyes on the screen.

(Yes, I'm listening, wait.)

"Sun kahan rahe hai, screen mein dhyan hai sab, hum ghar kab jaenge? Kitna time hogya Ansh ko dekhe, I miss him...aapka ye kaam kab khatam-"

(Where are you listening, you are focused on the screen. When will we go home? It's been so long since we've seen Ansh. I miss him... When will you finish this work of yours?)

"Princess, be quite for a minute!" he said a little louder and she flinched holding the shirt that she was folding. She left the shirt and he closed his eyes murmuring 'fuck'.

She stepped out of the room abruptly as he abandoned his laptop and trailed after her, "Jaana, sorry jaana!" he uttered, following her into the kitchen. She moved from one counter to another, engrossed in her task, while he furrowed his brows, clutching the corner of her dupatta.

Without sparing him a glance, she immersed herself in cleaning a vase and swapping out the old tulips for the fresh roses he had brought her that morning. Every day, he bought her flowers, and she changed them, but today she had forgotten due to her office work. She was now a brand management associate in one of the UK's top companies, but her work was mostly remote. In over a year, she had only visited her main office once.

Like a persistent child, Akshat continued to follow her, "Jaana, look at me, please, I am sorry!"

She glanced at him, folding her arms across her chest, while he still held her dupatta, wearing an innocent puppy-dog expression. "Say something," he pleaded fearfully, knowing he couldn't mess with a raging lioness.

She made a bored pout, attempting to free her dupatta from his grip, but he refused to let go, drawing closer to her. Unable to elicit a reaction, she finally abandoned the dupatta altogether and started to move towards the room. He encircled it with his hands, folding it into his fist and kissed it, locking eyes with her. She tried to maintain her anger, but she couldn't help feeling a bit shy, and he smirked at her reaction.

He followed her into the room, finding the lights off. In the shadows of the washroom, he could see her undressing from the kurta she was wearing, but she was on the other side, obscured from his view. He left the dupatta on the bed and ventured into the washroom, only to be left gaping in shock. She looked drop-dead gorgeous, clad in a stunning dress that exuded sensuality and elegance. It was crafted from sheer silver net fabric, delicately draped over her curves, accentuating her figure in all the right places. The dress featured intricate detailing, perhaps with shimmering sequins or lace embellishments, adding a touch of glamour to the ensemble. With its plunging neckline and daringly low back, it left little to the imagination, teasing glimpses of her skin beneath the sheer fabric. Her hair was open cascading to her hips.
