Shubman was excited he had won his first ever match as captain. His family had come over, so had some of his closest friends. He felt grateful, but the stroke of luck it was to have Ishan with him during this monumental moment for him? That was really special. Maybe they were destined, he thought hopefully.

Shubman walked over to where Ishan was talking to Rohit. Ishan came to him as soon as he saw him holding his waist while Shubman wrapped his hand around Ishan's neck.

"Tujhe tera promise yaad hai" (Do you remember your promise?)

"Idhar kuch mat bol, itne cameras aur mic hai" (Don't say anything here, there are lots of cameras and mics here)

"Tho mein kya bol raha hoon. Mein tho bas yaad dila raha hoon" (what am I saying. I'm just reminding you)

"Yaad hai mujhe" (I remember) Ishan smiled and looked at Shubman who was smiling back at him fondly.

"Hold the pose, hold the pose, ek photo"

They posed for pictures happily. As they stood talking some more Ishan was describing the shots, the mess ups and what could've beens. Shubman listened intendedly and gave his two cents.

"Patah nahi mein itna khush kyun ho raha hoon. Meine tho acha khela bhi nahi" (I don't know why I'm so happy. I didn't even play well)

"Aage ke matches mein tu acha khelega.. fikar mat kar...aur waise.. Tu mere liye khush hai baby" (you'll play well in the matches ahead.. also., you're happy for me, baby) Shubman said the last part in a low voice that made Ishan's heart skip a beat. It wasn't even anything unusual and yet why did he feel this way,? Readers, he knows why, he's just being willfully blind.

To find their way back to each other was a whole process. What with them being intercepted on the field by some

important, some annoying people. Off the field, he had to celebrate with his family and friends. Which was great except he couldn't help fretting over the plans he had made for Ishan.

He had messaged Ishan his plans but wasn't sure when Ishan got a chance to look at his phone so he waited with bated breath for a confirmation.

It was right in the middle of a conversation with his mother while the rest of the family and friends were milling around that he got a message. So, he may have special notifications set up for Ishan. He's going to neither confirm nor deny it. His eternal stance to any question is maybe, maybe not. He had decided to own this side of himself after all the trolling subsided.

Anyway, the story goes that he smiled like a fool at the 3 words on the screen. "Ok, meri jaan"

His mother raised her eyebrows at his reaction and his sister who he had no idea was around, smirked. Legit smirked. Scary. He tried to contain the smile but it wouldn't. The prospect of private holi with Ishan was just too happiness inducing. So he let it happen. He grinned brilliantly at his mom and sister as he walked away to join his friends who were playing cards.

Somewhere at 2 in the night, Ishan came and sat in the car where Shubman was waiting for him. "Ye kaisa plan hai yaar. Hum kahi bhaag rahe hai kya" (what kind of plan is this.. are we running away?) he asked as he yawned. Shubman was just staring at how cute his bestie looked which in turn wasn't the smartest thing to do because the bestie in question had glared at the lack of response.

"Haan chal bhaag ke shaadi karte hai" (Ok let's elope and get married)

Ishan was annoyed "mein wapas room jaa raha hoon" (I'm going back to the room) he grumbled.

Shubman was offended. "Kyun mujhse shaadi nahi karega" (why, won't you marry me?) he pouted.

Ishan stared at Shubman confused. "Tujhse shaadi karoonga par bhaag ke nahi.. sabke saamne"(I'll marry you.. but won't elope.. I'll marry you in front of all)
