A/N aka Rant alert (feel free to skip this part, the story is definitely sweeter)

Distressed - the way Ishan isn't in the squad, tbh more than just upset, distressed. God! The way they're punishing him reeks of bad blood and there's no way the captain and the coach went like..oh we can skip Ishan the one who has the fastest ODI hundred and saved our asses against Pakistan and has 50s against countries like Australia. brr!  I feel like right now Pant has the sympathy and he has not done much in the short format but has been getting more opportunities. Sigh!!  Anyway, Ajit Agarkar is the bane of my existence from his days as a bowler (leaked runs like a really runny diarrhea) then as commentator he was annoying AF, now as selector he makes me want to pull my hair out.

Annoyed with fans - Shubman Gill is a fking prodigy, the biased franchise fans and big player fans may never want you to see that, but do your research that's more than just comparing bland stats.

IF you've followed Gill's career, you'd know why he is deserving of everything he has gotten. if anything he was shortchanged by being disincluded in the world cup (What happened to the famous connections you speak of in the most important tournament?!) You don't score 351 with a record breaking partnership when under 16 and be in the news or win upcoming cricketer year after year at ages 14/15 by being a wannabe. Player of tournament for U19 WC. He was also the youngest captain of the various domestic sides. This guy came from nothing to here, show some respect before you say unkind and untrue things.

Being made the vice captain reminded me of the absolute furore it cause when Virat Kohli was announced as Vice to MSD(my man) at such a young age. Firstly Kohli of then was nothing like the Kohli of now. Other than his talent, he was unpolished, an angry and aggressive young man, said the most undiplomatic things and Indian fans unanimously hated the choice of VC. Lmao. However, he grew into the role beautifully, became a very fine captain until the moment he was unceremoniously dumped due to BCCI politics. Anyway, in comparison, Gill is downright sorted for his age. Give him a break, he is 24, he'll grow into the role too.

That being said I feel Rutu was unfairly removed but thats not on Gill, many other unqualified players are in the squad you KNOW who they are. Also, calling Gill selfish in his first tournament like dudettes, it's normal for the coaching staff to keep left right combination as openers, if you haven't noticed Yash and Abhi are both left handers. Deep sigh. Imagine using logic. Imagine trying to play all the players that were sent. It is not that deep. They tried.

Deepest annoyance - Hardik being removed as Captain. That's just awful, he has proven to be a successful captain. I'm rolling my eyes at "dealing with teammates" as the reason for removal..the PR is strong with this one, I hope he is not hit with another set of distressing nonsense as happened during IPL. That man survived fire and showed everyone he is made of steel..or Gold or Platinum.

Last but not the least. I get solos hating on either Ish or Shub..but are you even an Ishman/Shubish fan if you like only one of them? Also, the way everything is not for Social media is something a lot of fans need to realize. Sometimes, life is easier, you are comfortable being yourself on SM..sometimes when things are harder you want to protect what you have. Life isn't SM posts. They have been intimate friends for 6 to 7 years, they don't need your validation. Neither do they deserve hate for navigating their life as they choose to

O ye of little faith.. they are happiest with each other, these are just facts.

Ending this insanely long rant with a fervent hope to see Ishan back in the India blues at the earliest. This boy deserves the world.

I promise you the story below is actually sweet.

"It's these two again.. exchanging barbs." It was the first match of the season and wicket keeper Ishan Kishan was saying something to the opposition team batsman Shubman Gill from behind the stumps. Shubman Gill said something back making Ishan Kishan scoff.
