Chapter 3: Yamane Akio, The King of Diamonds
Days after the death of Sasaki Megumi...
There was a band that was barely even known because they perform on bars and community functions. The band had a singer named Yamane Akio. His band members and friends describe him as a kind hearted man who would never EVER raised his tone offstage.
"Akio, tomorrow, let's practice for the next song!"
"Sure!"
On the next day, morning. The band practiced their next song which they will be performing tonight. It was February 11, 2001 and Akio decided to go home to get some rest.
"Oh, you're leaving now?" one of his bandmates asked him.
"Yeah, I'm tired so see you guys tonight!" Akio waved his hand to them, leaving through the front door of the bar, the bar they're going to perform in was called "Yoshida's".
Hours later, Akio's girlfriend decides to visit him since it was quite a while since she tried visiting him since Akio was always the one visiting.
It's night and Akio's band is still waiting for him.
"Man, where is he?" one of his bandmates asked.
"I don't know but I'm sure he'll come! I'm sure of it! Akio would never quit!" one of his bandmates said.
While at the apartment where Akio lives, Akio's girlfriend has reached the door to his room. The woman fixes herself just in case and knocks at the door.
"Akio?"
The woman called out but no one answered. She places the palm of her hand flat at the door and the door, slowly, opens.
"Did he left it unlocked?"
She, slightly and softly, pushes the door open and discovers that the lights are closed. She turns the lights on and sees nothing but an empty space.
"Did he move?"
Quickly, she sensed that something was wrong. Akio should have told them that he was going to move but it seemed like Akio was robbed. She, then, calls the police and his bandmates.
Days later, one of the bandmates reported Akio missing and a search for him began. The house had no evidence or clue left behind. The last day he was seen was February 11, 2001, morning and his bandmates were the one who last saw him.
The police confronted the men behind the cameras of the apartment since the apartment had CCTVs on. The policemen along with Akio's bandmates and his girlfriend watched the video and there a hooded figure could be seen entering through a side door, and leaving with a large garbage bag that bulged strangely.
The policemen confronted the people who were in the apartment on that day but no one saw or knows the hooded figure on that day. The police declared that person the suspect but through the footage, the face wasn't shown and they doubt they could find the suspect.
"What are we going to do?" one of Akio's bandmates asked.
"Don't worry, the police will find him!" another one of the band said.
"Are you sure? The police couldn't find any evidence or clue inside and outside the apartment," Akio's girlfriend began to cry.
"Don't worry, we'll just have to believe in them," another one of the band said.
"You think?" and another one said.
"Well, what else can we do?"
The group decides to let the police do their thing. With Akio not around, the band will have to cancel their performances and for now, search for a substitute for Akio, just in case.
The following week later...
"Oh yeah...oh yeah...oh yeah...!"
The owner of "Yoshida's" has arrived at his bar. He was just singing one of Akio's and his band's songs and opening the his bar. After he sang, softly, he whistles like a bird.
The door, now, unlocked, he enters the building and drops his keys. The man met quite a grisly sight as he stood there, with his jaws wide open. What the man is seeing now is a dead body on one of the tables.
"Huh?"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The man's scream was heard all over the neighborhood. Immediately, the man calls the police. Moments later, the police discovered that the body belongs to Yamane Akio.
Akio's bandmates along with his girlfriend cried. The police discovered that his vocal chords had been ripped out of his throat and was shot on the head. They also discovered that the suspect has left a playing card of The King of Diamonds and had a word written on it with blood.
The word was "Alice". The playing card was on his hand, clutching it, along with his ruined vocal chords.
