Iz only had the pleasure of a GSW to head, a hand full of time. She had the benefit of Logan walking through the process. For him, it was instinct. For her, it took more effort. His feral mutation was born to him, not to her. Focus and determination. Iz had plenty to live for, so that was easy but the real challenge was holding her focus. Jazz, Cass and Tony floated in her foggy mind and that gave her what she needed to hold on.
She became aware of her surroundings. Sticky blood coating her hair and skin. Very slowly, she opened her eyes. Fear of what she would see but knowing she needed to know. She opened her eyes and saw the waterfall. Iz couldn't smell anyone that's been by in the last forty five minutes. She forced herself to stand up and slowly, she faced to couch. Tony wasn't there. That terrible fear eased, slightly but the awful feeling in her gut wasn't relieved. "Thank god." Iz breathed and turned her gaze to the stairs that led to the lab. She pulled her phone out and had missed calls from Clint and Coulson. She picked Coulson to return his call first. "Coulson?"
"Wolfe, report."
"Well, I just got shot in the head, Tony is missing and I think-... I think Stane has the arc reactor."
"I understand. Get to Stark Labs, immediately. I don't care what lengths you take but I want you on site in the next five minutes." Coulson ordered. A woman's voice whined through the speaker but sounded like Clint was running interference. Must be Virginia Potts. "Understood, Wolfe?"
"Got it."
Iz shoved the phone away and eyed the stairs down to the lab. Five minutes was a long time for someone like her. She skipped down the steps, relying on her nose to alert her of danger. However, no one was in the lab but the suit was gone. A thought occurred to her and she asked, aloud. "JARVIS?"
"Yes, Ms. Wolfe?"
"Is Tony alive?"
"Yes, he is currently en route to Stark Labs."
She sighed in relief. Alive for now. Iz pulled out a headset and slipped it in her ear. "Hack into this and patch me to him if you would be so kind?" She scrolled through a mental mutation rolodex and settled on teleportation to be the fastest. Personal feelings would only get in the way in situations like these. Iz breathed, deeply and shoved them far deep down. Emotions were low man on the totem poll for now.
"Of course."
"IZ! You were dead!" The worry came across loud and clear. Iz frowned, he wasn't used to this. To what Isabella Wolfe, the mutant could do. "I saw Obi kill you."
"Ow, bullet to the head gives me a migraine." Iz hissed. "I'm fine, okay? I'm alive."
"How in the hell are you alive? I saw him shoot you! I saw-!"
"Logan's mutation isn't just a feral mutation with heightened senses and the claws. He has a super fast healing factor. I was using his gift when I was shot. So, not dead. Yeah? I'm letting you know I'll meet you there. Teleportation interferes with reception. We can go over details if we live through this. Okay? I will answer anything you want. Good luck, Tony."
"Isabella!"
Iz hung up and vanished in a swirl of red smoke. Iz opened her eyes to see the glass building of Stark Labs. Potts rushed out of the building with her phone clutched in her hands. No Clint or Agent Coulson. Worry started to fill her again, she was starting to like those two. Clint more than Coulson but that couldn't be helped. Iz shook her head to clear her focus. "Where's Clint? Coulson?"
"Tony! Tony! Are you alright?!" Potts stared at her in shock. "You weren't here just now."
"Where!" Iz ordered.
