Chapter 13

Maia (A few weeks later)

I'm laying in bed in my pajamas when I get a text from Austin.

Hey, want to come over to Jeydon's?

I text him back saying that I'd be there in a bit. I put on my black high waisted shorts that have five buttons, a black cropped long sleeve shirt that shows my whole stomach, a pair of black knee high stockings, and my black and white converse. For my makeup, I don't do any foundation. I just do extra volume mascara, thick winged eye liner, and clear lip balm.

When I'm done getting changed, I go downstairs where my parents are with some of their friends.

"Where are you going?" My mom asks me.

"Jeydon's house." I tell her.

"Dressed like that?" My dad gives me a look.

"Uh, yeah." I look down at my outfit, not seeing a problem with it.

"Just be safe. We love you." My mom smiles as waves me off.

"Bye! Love you too!" I grab my car keys out of the key bowl.

When i get to Jeydon's house, I see them all sitting out front.

"I'm here!!" I announce as I get out of my car.

"We see that!" Kyle laughs at me.

"Psh, okay. Whatever." I act sassy.

"Don't sass me." He does the finger wave.

"I can't. That was too adorable." I giggle.

"Your giggle!" Alex laughs.

"We should go do something." Austin says once me and Alex are done laughing at each others laughs.

"Like what?" Johnnie asks him.

"We should all go to the piercing and tattoo place." Alex says.

"Why would we do that?" Bryan looks at her.

"I want my nose pierced." She shrugs.

"I want a piercing too!" I tell them.

"To the piercing and tattoo place it is!" Jordan gets up and walks over to his car. We all follow his lead but Alex, Austin, and Johnnie get in my car while Jordan, Kyle, Bryan, and Jeydon get in Jordan's car.

When we get there, we all pile out.

"Ohh, when we get back to Jeydon's house, we should dye your hair." Alex looks over at me once we're inside.

"Yeah." I nod.

"We would have to stop at the store to get the hair dye." She points out.

"Let me text my mom." I pull out my phone and ask my mom if i can get my lip pierced and dye my hair. She says it's fine, so I walk over to the counter where everyone is.

"She said it's fine." I elbow Alex lightly.

"What would you like?" The guy asks Alex.

"I want my nose pierced." She tells him.

"Okay. Follow me back here." The guy leads her back to a room.

"Is anyone else getting a piercing?" A younger guy asks us.

"I want to get my lip pierced." I tell him.

"Alright. If you would, follow me." He leads me to the room next to where Alex went.

"I'm Carson." He tells me as he gets out the needle and jewelry.

"I'm Maia." I smile at him as he puts gloves on.

"Pretty name. And which side do you want?" He asks me.

"Uh can I get two on the right side?" I ask him.

"Spider bites. They'll look good." He gets out another needle. He gets a blue marker and draws two little dots on my lip.

"That look good to you?" He holds up a small mirror.

"Yeah." I nod.

After he does them, he takes his gloves off and hands me the mirror again.

"I love them." I smile.

"Good." He smiles back, leading me out of the room.

"We have matching piercings!" Johnnie exclaims when he sees me.

"We do!" I laugh and he high fives me.

After me and Alex pay, we al leave.

"We need to go to the store." Alex reminds me.

"I don't want to." Bryan wines.

"Then  we'll meet you at Jeydon's house." Alex tells him.

When I park my car outside of Sally's Beauty Supply store, we all go inside.

"The hair dye is right there." Alex points to the isle filled with hair dye.

"What color should I do it?" I look at all the colors.

"This one would look really cool." Johnnie points to a pastel blue color.

"I'll go get the bleach." Alex walks around to the other side of the slef whiel I grab to bottles fo the pastel blue.

At Jeydon's house

We already bleached my hair, so now Alex is putting the blue in it.

"This is going to look really cool." She says to me.

"I really hope so." I tell her.

"It will." She runs her glove covered hands through my long hair.

After about forty five minutes of it sitting in my hair, we wash it out.

"Hey Jey, can I use your hair dryer?" I ask him once we're done washing my hair in the sink.

"Yeah. It's in the bathroom." He tells me. It took me like half an hour to dry my hair completely.

"So, is it a family thing?" Austin looks at me once I walk back out.

"What?" I look back at him.

"You and Michael with coloring your hair." He says in a 'duh' tone.

"Oh, uh, I guess?" It comes out as more of a question.
