(Marcus's POV)
As we neared the first stopping point on the American leg of our tour, Winston was becoming restless as he had not eaten in 'years'. He wouldn't stop reminding us every minute and kept poking at a sleeping Ben, who had finally had enough and went to the back of the bus where our makeshift beds were. Winston then turned his attention to me because Ted was taking his turn at driving.
I groaned audibly as yet another question was being thrown at me by Winston, the ever curious banjo player. I heard Ted chuckle in the front seat and I flipped my attention to him and said, "Hey, Ted," I swore I heard his eyes widen. "I think it may be my turn at driving, you've been at the wheel for maybe an hour or so, you might be getting fatigued, wouldn't want to wear you down too much." I stated even though he'd only been at the wheel for maybe 45 minutes or so.
"Uh, I just got up here though," He said sounding worried. "And you sound like you're having loads of fun back there." He added, throwing me up over the edge.
"Oh just pull over Ted."
"Fine, but you're going to pay for this Marcus."
"Yeah, whatever," I said as I climbed into the driver's seat and pulled away from the side of the road. I drove on as I heard Ted being bugged by Winston. Poor guy was in over his head with his feelings for the bearded banjo player. Although he always denied having those feelings, we all knew, well except for Winston, he was oblivious as to how Ted really felt about him.
I rubbed the scruff that was on the sides of my face as I continued on down the seemingly endless, barren, dull highway that America seemed to have so many of. Everything was going pretty well for me I guess, I had my music, my health, and most of all I had all the people in my life that made everything okay.
I'd been driving for an hour or so, alone with my thoughts until Ben snapped me out of them by patting my shoulder and dragging me out of them. I looked up in the mirror to see Ben rubbing his eyes and standing behind me while Winston and Ted were arguing over something I couldn't really focus on while Ben was right next to me, all sleepy and with his hand on my shoulder. He sat down in the seat next to me and looked out at the road as I drove for a little while longer.
(No POV)
A comfortable silence hung between them as they both cast sidelong glances at each other without the other knowing. They both were head over heals for the other but didn't know how to bring it up without causing a big scene if the other didn't reciprocate the same feelings. At one point in time Ben was looking at Marcus and they stared into each others' eyes for a solid couple seconds, before an obnoxious squeal came from farther back in the bus.
Winston was being held to the ground by Ted after he had said something that made him a target in the eyes of the curly haired man. Winston was screaming 'uncle' by the time they were done with their wrestling match. Ted remained on top of Winston though, pretending to be asleep. Winston thrashed and started punching Ted (lightly) until he finally rolled off him.
Ben had to eventually get up and go back there to stop them from getting into it again, but by this time Marcus had already pulled into their hotel that they were going to be staying at for a couple days. He parked the bus around back where it wouldn't be too obvious and they all clambered out of it, all of them narrowly being missed by a running Winston, who was happy to be out of the bus and on solid ground. He slammed himself down on the pavement and started kissing the ground and making a big fuss about being 'so tired of being on the road for so long'.
"Uh, Win, I think that's what you're supposed to do when you get off of a plane or when you go skydiving or something that actually gets you off the ground," Ted said sarcastically.
"Oh, Ted, you beautiful, naive, bass player," Winston said as he walked closer to Ted, finally reaching him and pulling him into a tight embrace, causing the man to blush an insane amount that shouldn't be possible. "I'm just so happy that I'm on tour with you guys, especially you Teddy." Despite popular belief, it is possible to blush even harder than you thought you were able to blush. This was going to be a long tour.
