19: Grief

"Oh changing days, I have a lot of pain. There were some dreams that were not meant to be scattered."

Adam was having a conversation with Ayesha's family. When she enters in a black shawl different from earlier. Adam still hasn't seen her face properly due to her covering it most of the time. And he has no plan to do so. He doesn't want to make her uncomfortable in any way.  

"Ayesha, my baby. How are you?" Her mother engulfed her in a tight, secure way. Who wants to keep her daughter safe from awful society?

"I am fine. How are you, mother?" She said with a small smile. Inseauring her mother that she is fine. She doesn't need to worry anymore.

"Thank you so much, Sir. I couldn't be more grateful for your this favor on my daughter's life." She said bending her head continuously.

"No, you don't have to thank me. Thank Allah SWT who sent me on time. Or I can't imagine the loss of a life and there is no need to call me sir. I am like your son. You can call me by my name."

"No...no I can't do that. I respect you. I can't call you by your name."

"In this way, you are degrading me. You are my elder. It will be against my upbringing. Please call me by my name. Adam. And secondly, I will be your son within a year." He even doesn't know how this sentence makes its way out of his mouth.

Women look a bit hesitant but she manages to pronounce his name. He had talked to them and they don't have a problem with Ayesha getting married after Idat. Her father didn't come as those dumb villagers brainwashed him.

"Ayesha, I talked to your mother, she doesn't have an issue with you getting married." 

"But I don't want to get married. You really don't need to do this. I can be on my own." That he just saw. Her being on her own.

"And ....what... about the baby? I am not aborting at any condition."

"So, when did I say I will make you abort? I am accepting you with the baby." He said with a look ' Now what reason you will give to oppose.' Here he is trying to save this woman going against his commitment to someone else, on the other hand, she is trying her best to jump into the fire from where he dragged her a few hours ago.

"Still I don't wan......" She stops mid-sentence due to her mother pressing her hand.

"Ayesha I know you don't want to do this and I wouldn't have forced you if it's not for your safety. This is the last time I'm asking you to do what your parents are deciding. Think about the baby. These villagers are monsters. they won't wait a second to kill you."

She was tied with the responsibility of a new life or she would have never agreed to this. 

They decide to get married after the birth of the baby. When her mother left it was twilight. Hues of orange, yellow, and white were taking over the sky. Another day was dying. That was the last meeting they had. 

After that, Adam came back to Islamabad.

"Shah Ge, Adam has left. The girl is alone with the boy and his family. Sometimes her mother visits her."

" Any idea when he will come back."

"No Shah Ge. But you just order and I will lay everyone's corpse."

"Don't they have guards?"

"They do. But they are not much of a problem."

"No, not right now. Let the egg become pupa first."
